Liquid Diet Before Surgery?

Wow. I cannot imagine doing that 1 OR 2 weeks before surgery! I had a lap RnY, but I had to do that for 2 days. They had me taking 2 different types of laxitives (fleets and docolax), but this was to flatten out my intestines. They never mentioned anything about my liver. Good luck to all of you (((hugs)))

Hi Leslie, I had surgery 7/21/2004 and I had to be on a "liquid" diet for one week prior. This was basically the 2nd week diet which is SFpudding, protein shakes, mashed potatoes, soup, Carnation SF breakfast, etc. It was not too bad. I can't wait until I am allowed to go back to that. Now I am on water, broth,SF jello and I just tried apple juice and am hoping for the best! When I read the carbs and sugar on the label I almost didn't try it but I feel like I need something with more nutrition. Good luck with the diet. You can do it!! Teresa
