My surgeon did NOT take out mine, but also did not give me any meds like Actigall to prevent stones...should I be taking meds for that?? I will also call the doctor today. Just wondering if anyone else didn't get meds for this? THX! Nadine

Hi... that's a good question. My GB was also in tact without stones, so it was left alone. No one in my family had a problem, so I am not really prone to them. However, I have read that for anyone experiencing rapid weight loss, Actigall is recommended. I'll make sure to ask my doc. Spyder

I actually heard something interesting last night. There is a new med other than actigall that they can give you - with many LESS side effects Yay. And like Alice said, you usually dont start taking it till 30 days out! ~keri
