Surgery on Monday!
Dear Julianne,
All of the nurses and doctors in charge of your care will be with you every step of the way. They want to be sure that you are doing well. Pre-op you may be nervous and wishing for your husband's hand to hold...but once you are under anesthesia, you won't be thinking about anything. When surgery is over you will be "out of it" from the drugs and after effects from anesthesia and will sleep most of the first day. I actually SENT MY HUSBAND HOME because I needed to sleep and asked my family not to come so I could rest. On the second day I was a bit more ready for someone to be there...but didn't want to socialize much.
Be sure to ask for help in the hospital EVERY TIME you need it. You may need help getting out of bed to get to the bathroom, or just asking for pain meds. It's what the nursing staff is paid to do, and they WANT to be sure that you are comfortable. The staff in my hospital were so caring and compassionate I was flabbergasted by their attentiveness.
And, GOD will be helping you through too. Prayer is a powerful source of comfort. Even if you don't pray, God wants you to come through with flying colors so that you can help others on their path.
I had my surgery on July 12....this past Monday. I am 5 days post and doing well. Sore, but well. I have already lost 12 lbs.
I will be there with you in prayer. You will not be alone for even a minute.

Dear Mary,
I was near tears when I read your letter to me... How can I be so lucky to meet such kind and compassionate
people, when I need them the most?
God is surely with me!
I had my stomach stapled in 1984, and lost over 100 lbs
but had to have it reversed i***** because I became malnourished and my HMO would not pay for a revision.
My surgeon says that when he opens me up, if my scars are too bad, he will close me back up and not do any surgery... My biggest fear is not death, but that he won't do any surgery on me, and I'll have to "live" out my life in this body...
Please pray he'll find nothing inside to stop the RNY...
Thankful,
Julianne

Julianne - we are never alone!!! God is always with us even when our husbands can not be. My surgery is Monday also -
Dear God,
It's me again!!! Please, Lord, carry Julianne and me in your hands on Monday. Keep us safe, Lord, and carry us through! This is part of your great plan for our lives, and we are only hear to do what you need us to do. We love you, Lord, and trust you. Keep us safe and (somewhat) free from pain. Thank you, Jesus, for loving us.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
Please keep in touch Julianne! I wish only the best for you. As I said, I have surgery on Monday too. Will touch base with you when I get home!!
