pre surgery diet :-s

Hi, Just curious, what is the right approach before your surgery date? Should you only eat liquids? and if so 3 days before?

Your surgeon/nutritionist should tell you this. Each one has their own protocol. I am to be on a full liquid diet the day before surgery. Give the surgeon a call. Now, I am personally "dieting" one last time before the big day. I don't know what I weigh right now (scale doesn't go that high), but I don't want to reach 350lbs, because my surgery will get canceled. I sure hope I'm not even NEAR 350...but I think I'm getting close!

Pamela is right.....every surgeon does something different. Mine requires a two week pre-op full liquid diet and in some cases, like mine, four weeks. Traci

Thanks, just curious since my surgeon liquids for one day before sugery and nothing to eat 12 hours before. But my Mum's surgeon told her go on liquids 3 days before surgery. I think this sounds safer.
