While we need calcium, post ops should not take tums because it is a calcium carbonate, we do not absorb this well. We should have calcium citrate. Please share your information! Tonia

I heard that we need to use Ferrous Fumurate (Iron) and not Ferrous Sulfate since its easier on your stomach. I have talked to some post-ops and they use a polysaccharide iron. --Carlene pre-op surgery date 7/7/2004

I take a granular form of Calcium Citrate made by FREEDA which I purchase at my Dr's office. I can just put it in my coffee. Its easier to digest than pill form. Marcy
