I changed yesterday a bit, and here is today

Hi everyone!  Here is how yesterday ended up going.  I had a protein bar for breakfast, then I walked 2 miles at the high school track, went to Family Dollar, a yard sale, and grocery shopping.  I decided to buy fish (haddock).  So, I had that for supper.  I put the haddock in aluminum foil, squeezed a half a lemon, spray butter, salt and pepper.  My and the dd had that for supper while the dh had fresh salmon.  I also made a big tossed salad with shredded cheese.  For lunch I had a LC flatbread.  Around 8 last night I had a bowl of fruit salad that I had made from the cookout on Saturday.  So, all in all I did well.   Here is today's plan:

B: Special K w/Protein, with fresh blueberries

L: LC chicken fettucine (NO FLATBREAD!!)

S: Marinated ckn breast, broccoli, salad, and 2 tbs parmesean/spinach noodles from Lipton.

Ive already swept and washed my kitchen and LR floors, done a load of laundry, and am leaving for work in about 15 mins.  When I come home I will cook supper, eat, then do the track again.  Not sure what will be a snack.   How is everyone else doing???

Hi Lisa,

It's been AGES since I've been on the message board.  I remember you, and Nancy, but I don't know if you'll remember me.  I was more of a lurker than a poster.

I logged in yesterday because I'm feeling so out of control.  I had surgery the same day as you, Lisa - 7/28/04.  Successfully lost 120 lbs -- down to 135.  I gained 5 lbs. the first year, but maintained 140 for some time.  Suddenly, last summer I started gaining and now I'm at 160 lbs.!  I was reading the posts between you and Nancy and realized I've been eating totally SLIDER foods.  The ones that make me feel "good"...not full!  So, I checked out the 5 day pouch test and I'm going to start next Monday (got to get to the grocery store to get the stuff).  Can't wait to see how my pouch still works!

I hope you don't mind if I join your discussions once in a while.  I forgot how motivating this site is!

Sounds like you're doing really well, Lisa.  Your plan looks awesome!

Getting geared up for some changes....

Gail,

MIND???? Not at all!!!!!!  I love when people vent and share.  I am doing pretty well, I did do the track today.  I ended up eating around 730 tonight, finished all of it.  Its 915 now and I had 100 calorie pack of snyders pretzels.  Not the best protein choice, but I needed a crunch.  It has 3grms. protein and < 1 gr. sugar.  Yep, still hungry, but I am really trying to "feel" my body and make sure its not a craving for something other than food.

The pouch test worked WONDERS for me!  And, the pouch does work!!! I followed it to the letter.  YES you will be hungry (at least I was) but it fades and you get right back on track.  This weekend Ive started exercising again.  I am right now at 284.5, but I had gotten up to 312!!!  The lowest I ever got at was 283, and stop losing at 9 months out.  I am the lucky 1% that doesnt dump and can tolerate sugar!  My surgeon says you can never tell who will be in that 1%.  When I do get over full, it really hurts.

Please stay and keep us informed of how you're doing!!!

Lisa,

It sounds like you're doing great!  Can't wait until I can see some weight loss.  I used to exercise like a crazy person, but have slacked off on that.  So, like I said, I'm gearing up to do the 5 day pouch test starting next Monday (it's a great week as I have no plans for dinners out or anything), and then I'm going to start walking and doing free-weights.  I live in Wisconsin and the weather is starting to cool a bit -- which I love!

I'll keep you updated as I struggle next week.  Right now I can hardly wait to get started!  I know it'll feel good to get back to the basics.

I'll be in touch!  Keep up the good work!

Hi all,

My PC at work was quirky today,  so I had to wait until I got home to post.

I started the 5 day pouch test today - I really felt out of control and was unable to get back on the SBD without cheating.  I'm SOOOOO hungry right now, all I've had today was a protein drink and water, water, water.   It's 7 PM and I think I'll make some Cream of Chicken soup.  I have SF Jello for later and I'm going to try and gulp down another bottle of water.  I can't wait until I don't feel the cravings anymore....I want some pretzels or chips, but I know if I stay away from the carbs and sugar for a day, I won't crave them so much.

Gail, I remember you and I hope you'll join Lisa and I.  I really need the support of this board and always, the more the merrier.

Hugs,
Nancy

The biggest of hugs to you Nancy! {{{Nancy}}} It can be so rough to get back on track and fight that hunger.  Be good to yourself.  You know your mood is going to be not so good.  Hang in there and know I am thinking of you!!!!!

Here's how today went:

B:  was on the run today, I had a peach and a protein bar in the car

L:  WW mariana and noodles

S:  Went to the salad bar at a supermarket and made a salad.  Used the dressing I have here.

S:  About to get a protein bar.

Walked 2 miles at the track today.  My weight this morning was 281.4....woohoo!!! I checked 3 times because I couldnt beleive it... The work is finally paying off again!  Keep me posted Nancy and Gail...
