Topic: surgery tommarrow,everything is ready
Hi I got a call on Friday and had my surgery changed from late September to tommarrow. I got my pre op done this morning, pre admission at hospital is done, bag is packed, talked to my five kids and is now just waiting for 5;15 am to come. Never had a chance to second guess or even get scared that it is wrong thing to do. I hope I can pass out tonight and get some sleep. or else that la la land medicine will really be helpful in the morning. God Bless all and keep me in your thoughts as the day passes. I will post as soon as I can.

Hi Jay, Glad to see you have a sense of humor, your going to need it. I had my WLS on the 9th and I'm doing great. When you go to the hospital take your pillows, they sleep better than the ones you get there. Take a good pair of slippers, you will be doing alot of walking. I wore the hospital gowns as the site where the drain and the g-tube are inserted leak and can stain your pj's. Just let your butt shine while in your room and put arobe on when you are walking in the hall. Hope everythaing goes well for you. I will be glad to hear from you when you get to the other side. You are in my prayers. Your WLS friend....Brenda from Apopka, FL

Hi Dina, I am so proud of you for making the decision to have WLS. The decision making process and the approval is the hardest part of all. I had my WLS on the 9th. Yes there is some pain, but girl you know what to expect after all you have been through. It is important to drink lots of water after the surgery, but you will not be able to gulp. It will come right back up. Sips are better as not to swallow alot of air. Take your pillows and a good pair of slippers as you will walk alot. I took several nice gowns but did not wear them. Where the drain and g-tube are inserted leak for a few days and this will stain your gowns. I just wore the good old butt showing hospital gowns with my robe on top for walks. Take something nice and loose for the ride home as you will be more comfortable. I hope my suggestions help. I will say a prayer for you and your family as I truely believe in the power of prayer. Hi Jane Lynn, I'm so glad that you are going to be able to have WLS. Seems like the hardest part is making the decision to have WLS. I had mine on the 9th and am doing great. When you go to the hospital take your pillows, a good pair of slippers as you will be doing a lot of walking, and don't wear the nice gowns you have bought for the hospital. The drain and the g-tube (if your doc uses them) will drain at the insertion site and stain your good gowns. I wor the hospital gowns with my robe over when I walked. Take something comfortable to wear home, nice and loose. I want you to know that getting anxious before the surgery is normal. We all go through it. I will say a prayer for you as I truely believe in the power of prayer. Your WLS friend...Brenda from Apopka, FL

Hi Kay, I am so proud of you!!!!I know how you are feeling. I had my WLS on the 9th. Make sure you are taking in enough water, this is so important. I like hot tea, so I drink it with Splenda. It's almost as good as sugar. Keep up the good work. Each day gets a little easier. Your WLS friend....Brenda from Apopka, FL

Hello Christina- I saw your name on the messageboard and just HAD to respond to your post! First of all congrats on your date! I am on the "waiting for ins. approva train" and am just full of anxiety! The reason I HAD to respond is that my maiden name is *******s what a coinkydinky. I live in Michigan. Well, again, congrats on your date and I know you will do fine as you go through the surgery and recovery l
