Topic: RE: 51 lbs on the first month, Hooray!!!
Hey Hector, it's Amy again. I was just wanting to know do you measure your 2 oz. with a measuring cup or is it by weight. Measuring has always been confusing to me but I think i want to try what you do and see if that works better. You know I am so used to eating 12 oz. of steak and a bake potato and other things all in one sitting so I don't even know what 2 oz. looks like. i do have to admit that finally the scale went down today so now a total of about 33 lbs. gone. Not too shabby for 4 and a half weeks if i do say so myself. I was just stressing b/c the scale didn't move for over a week. Already hate the scales. I did drop 4 sizes already. I also have to admit to drinking much more water in the last few days. I haven't thrown up in a couple of days either. I do love the PRIA bars. They really taste good and stay down well. So let me know about the measuring, i would appreciate it. Thanks Amy

Hi, visiting this website for the 1st time today I see lots of different diets..i had laproscopy rouen-y on 7-10..only had broth and jello for 7days, then went to proteins only...such as cottage cheese, eggs, tuna, fish, chicken, refried beans, split pea soup, yogurt, string cheese...
I have seen many plans where you are eating baby food for 2 weeks?? Although all the foods i ate the first month are soft...2nd month added fruits and vegetables...for 4 days you could get by with tuna, eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt..all available @ most restaurants..1 egg omelet w cheese..egg salad, or refried beans out of a Taco bell bean burrito...I dont know how post-op you are but hope this helps ...Carol

Thanks for writing back Hector. I know i can't compare myself to you or anyone else but man it's hard not to. My husband fussed at me last night for being down about my weight loss slowing. But i sat up thinking about it all and realized that i am definately not drinking enough water. I had been drinking a lot of sugar free kool aid and crystal light but definately not enough water. So I have vowed to get atleast 64 oz. of water if not more during the day. I am also trying to stick with very soft foods. I have been throwing up this week every time I try new things. I thought maybe I wouldn't be a puker since I had made it a few weeks without doing it. WRONG!! I am a little scared b/c I am really starting to feel hungry often. I am trying to drink the water when i feel hunger and it definately helps. These female hormones aren't helping at all either. I think another big problem is i don't feel like i have had surgery at all. I mean, i feel so good physically that i forget what i have done. Not that I regret it at all, just forget. I keep having nightmares that i get into the hospital and they tell me no. I guess I have just wanted this for so long that I cant believe it even happened. Thanks for listening and I am so excited for you. Keep on keeping on. Amy

Topic: Severe Acid Reflux
I had surgery 7/29 and was just released from the hospital yesterday. I have severe acid reflux and a continual burning in my chest. Has anyone else had this and if so does it go away?

I'll be advanced to solids a week after I get back (Sept. 12) Should I just ask for some leway since I'll be traveling so I can find something tolerable to eat? or pack a lot of apple sauce? Should I just plan on a hotel room with a kitchenette to cook or pack my mini fridge to store my stuff? I'm really at a loss. I'll only be gone for four days. Let me know what you think. Annie
