Topic: Kevin Painter's suggestion
hey everybody! Kevin suggested having everybody contribute recipes for a cookbook written by gb patients by gb patients and contributing the proceeds(sp) to charity or making a fund for people who can't afford the surgery or to cover things the insurance wont pay for! Would you like to contribute? I'm compiling recipes now to test them out. Please send me all your gb friendly recipes that the rest of you family enjoys. I especially need appetizers, desserts, beverages ( ways to kick your protien up ) meals on the go and breakfast. I could use much of the other things too. I'm a micro pouch patient but not all recipes have to be for the tiniest of us pouchers! Just give em to me! Come on, you know you want to. Annie : ) [email protected]

Topic: RE: Am I the only one with this problem
Dear Elizabeth,
I am 3wks post-op, are you meaning that when you eat meat you throw up or really dump? I have tried some chicken (white meat ie: wing, breast) but I took very small bites and chewed each bite about 50 times. You have to chew it to where it's almost paste feeling in your mouth and usually it only takes about 5 very small pieces and i'm full. If you overeat that also will make you throw up, so my trick was finding my full spot then stopping. Also remember we can't drink anything 30 minutes before or after our meals. I don't know how much I have lost but i'm not worried. As long as I keep walking and eating mostly protein wheather in food form or shakes i'll be ok. Hope this helps. Please e-mail me if you want to talk. God Bless You.

Topic: Unjury protein powder
Hi Everyone,
Just had to tell everyone that I have finally found a protein supplement powder that I like. It is Unjury chocolate and it tastes just like chocolate milk. Of course it would help if I actucally liked chocolate and milk. lol But it really isnt bad, you just have to mix it pretty well with a spoon. My kids thought it was their chocolate milk, that there say it all!
