Topic: So aggrivated!!!
I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but man I just can't help myself. I had surgery July 9th and all went well and so far have lost 40 to 44 lbs. Which i know is ok but i keep hitting plateaus. This morning I was excited b/c i was down the 44lbs (after walking 2 miles) and now I am back up to just 40 lost. I have eaten my protein today and very very few carbs lots of water just to gain 4 lbs. Somebody please tell me this is happening to them also. I feel like this thing just might not work for me. I am soo aggrivated. HELP!!! Am i doing something wrong? Amy

Topic: RE: How much have you lost?
Dominique...don't get discouraged. Everyone is different. I had surgery July 2 and have lost 39 pounds and 37 3/4 inches. Although I have lost 2 sizes in shirts, I am still wearing the same size pants! Hang in there and follow your doctors orders. Wishing you all the best.

Topic: How much have you lost?
I had my surgery on July 22, 2003, and I lost only 4 pounds the first week, and next week I am going back for my 6 week follow-up. I haven't lost any dress sizes and I want to know, from those of you that had your surgery in July, how much have you lost to date? Thank you for your help Dominique

A local surgeon that I know of has a great website with tons of recips...I'm sure that they are good recipes, but I can't really atest to that, because I haven't tried any of them yet check out the site at www.advancedwls.com Good luck! I know I would buy a copy Dominique

Topic: RE: BMI
I would find another PCP...if they are not supportive of weight loss surgery now, I don't think that they will be supportive to you later on, when you most likely fail, yet again, with one of those commercial dieting programs. I know that I have gone to doctors for my pre-op testing and so forth, and they were not happy about the idea of my having WLS and I just didn't go back to them. The thing about it is, seeing as they have most of the power in this type of situation, considering the fact that they are the people who have to refer you and send reports about you to the surgeon and the insurance company, if they don't want you to have this WLS, for whatever reason, they can sabatoge the whole thing by reporting that you aren't "ready" for the life-changing surgery, or that you haven't followed doctors orders and haven't tried to lose weight by any other means, etc. If I were you, I would seek out a PCP who was more supportive concerning WLS and who has had patients who have not only been approved, but who have also had successful WLSs. I hope that I have helped Good luck with everything, and feel free to email me at [email protected] Dominique

Topic: RE: Unjury protein powder
Just wanted to let you know that the unflavored is actually very good in orange juice, too. It saved me during my last week of three weeks on liquids -- I was SICK of the Dr. Atkins-type drinks by that time.

I don't quite have a BMI of 35, but I have other problems that are leading me to surgery. My PCP is giving me trouble about the surgery, he want me to do WW for awhile, I told him I have done this stuff for the last 20 years and they do not work me. Any ideals? Thanks
