Topic: Updating things..
Hello everyone, Thought maybe I should give an update sence I am now tommarrow 10 weeks post op.. I am down a total of plus 60 pounds so far.. I had a leak at 8 weeks but the pain is now forgotten,.. The leak was due to 2 ulsers one in the pouch, and one in the intestines.. Dr. Brown started me on calfrate 4 times a day to heal the ulsers up.. and redused my water intake from 120 ounces a day to 50 ounces a day, to keep stress off the pouch. and holding my food intake to 3 ounces three times a day. and advised me to take 30 minutes to eat my meals.. This has been very helpfull in helpping with the healing process of the ulsers.. But I haft to admit is hard to slow so far down in eating, then there is the issue to take the meds wait one hour to eat, wait one hour to drink then all over again.. I sometimes feel I am waiting more then drinking or eating .. But I am feeling so much better this past few days now, I am getting stronger now I feel, and sometimes a bit hungry.. I am now a clock watcher, waiting for the time to tick to get a drink or meds or food.. Oh well this is for my health.. I don't regret the surgery, And never will.. Audrey

I had surgery on July 3rd/4th, have been in the hospital 3 times and don't wanna go back again. I was in there from Sept. 1-10th with a viral infection. I'm getting back on my feet again. Have started to exercising/walking, started sewing again, which i haven't done in 3 months. So far i've lost 60# which to me isn't bad, i'm considered a light weight. My starting out weight was 212 now i'm down to 154. I've started to buying some new clothes and that seems nice to not go into plus sizes. Well thanks everyone for listening to me. this has been a long journey for me, but i'm gonna be alright. Dorothy Upstate NY 212/153/130

I had surgery on July 29th. To date I am down 41 pounds. I am feeling pretty good and am back working. I am now taking my Effexor XR medicaton by mouth. I still can feel it working with my brain but not too much to complain about. Also I wanted to share a good deal with you all. I am not making money on this! Tupperware has their Quick Shake Container on sale. Normally it is $9.00 and the consultant cost is only $4.00. If anyone wants any, let me know. These would be shipped directly from Tupperware. Again, I am not making anything off this, just thought I would give my discount since we have a lot of protein shake users. Email me if you need more information, [email protected] Ps. These make great gifts for those new postops!

Topic: RE: How much have you lost?
Hi there! I had open RNY on 9Jul03 and have lost 58lbs so far. It doesnt seem like enough to me, but I have also gone from a size 26pants and 28shirt to an 18jeans (not stretch) and 14/16 top! The scale isnt always the best way to measure your success. I feel AMAZING! I work out nearly every day so I"m probably replacing some fat with muscle. Keep up the good work and cut out the carbs! You're doing great! Remember, its a tool..not the solution. Jennifer
