I know exactly what you're going through. I have the same problem and had surgery the day before you. Sometimes it can be a phobic problem. Sometimes it can be from eatting too much through out the day. Sometimes it can be from simply eatting foods your body doesn't like anymore. I'm limited to a few things such as ground beef chicken cooked certain ways and protein shakes because I'm sick of all the other things I can have. Have you talked to your doctor about it? Sometimes our plumbing shuts a little too much and they have to resize the pipes. Don't worry, it'll get better.

Topic: RE: How much have you lost?
I had surgery 7-25-03 and as of today I have lost 71 lbs. 280/210. I have gone from size 26/28 to 20/22. I have been wearing jeans size 20 and I have gone from a 3X to 1X. Don't get discouraged and the most important thing is DO NOT COMPARE yourself to others. Everyone is different. Keep a food and exercise journal. Drink your water. Get your protein in. Also remember that when the scale isn't moving sometimes you are still losing inches. Take care and hang in there. Paula

Congratulations Paula!! I had surgery July 9 and am down about 65 to 68 lbs., it keeps fluctuating. I have been a bit discouraged this week because the scale moved up 2 and 3 lbs. But i hadn't taken the time to walk like i had been so hopefully it'll start moving down soon. i just got off the treadmill and I am worn out, but already feel better. i thank God daily for letting me know this was a good decision for me and my family. We are all showing healthier behaviors since i had the surgery. I am at 222 and can't wait to be where you are. 210 is so close to 200 which is so close to being under 200. How exciting. I was so excited to buy a size 18 at Old Navy the other day that I called my husband crying. No more Layne Bryant!! Even though they do have a lot of pretty clothes. I even found things in my size on the sales rack that fit. That never happened before. I can't believe how much cheaper smaller clothes are. Keep up the good work. I think this whole experience is so much fun. Congrats again. Amy

Wow, just wanted to say that this is such an awesome experience. I never thought that I would have lost this quick. I am down from 280/210. It has been 18 yrs since I was this weight. I am half way to my personal goal of 140. woohoo......To all of you July losers, keep it up. Don't get discouraged if the scale stops moving. It will get better. I thank God that I had the courage and strength to make this life altering decision. It was the best thing that I could have done for myself. Hugs and Prayers, Paula

Hi Dominique, I too feel the same as everyone. Just give it time and before you know it, you'll be wondering where it all went to I had my surgery July 1, 2003 and to this date I have lost 65 pounds. To me, the secret is protein protein! Drink your protein drinks faithfully. I don't quite drink mine as often as I did up until 2 weeks ago though. Only because I was loosing too fast. So now I make sure I eat foods with protein. I have gone from a size 30 in jeans to a size 24 petite. Yes ma'am, petite. I have NEVER worn anything that had petite in it....lol But I am thrilled and my life has changed so much. I am happy with life more today than I have ever been. Like I said, hang in there and make sure to get in as much as your protein you can possibly get in daily. Also, stay in touch with weight loss peeps just like us. Support is also the best medicine Good luck to you and know you have many of friends here. Take Care, Dee

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am elated! I'm down 30# after only 3 weeks and so far have been able to keep down everything I've tried. I'm taking it very slow, but things are going well. My prayers go out to all those awaiting surgery and good luck! And to all those post - op, isn't this great? Is this what you imagined? I never thought the weight would come off so fast.

i had my surgery on july 1. it has been 3 months and 11 days. i have lost 57 pounds. the one thing i keep telling my self, and i hope it helps you people who are discouraged, is that there is no way on this amount of food, that i am not going to loose weight. i was 100 pounds overweight and now i am 43. that is a miracle, and i know it will continue. it may slow down but it will continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The vomiting is relatively normal with foods but, I am not so sure why you would be vomiting after just drinking liquids. These are the only presumptions I can make from it: - you are drinking after you eat without waiting about an hour - you are drinking while you eat - you are drinking something with alot of sugar - you are drinking too much too fast If none of these are true, I would call my surgical team and ask to be seen. I hope this helps some. Good luck and God bless. Rob
