Topic: RE: Having some problems still with vomiting
I also had that problem my date was 7/23. I have know fixed it and do no vomit anymore. My problem was my vitamins. I take many capsules and I don't think my pouch could digest the outside of them so I have been emptying them into my protein drink or sf pudding or applesause and for two weeks no vomiting. The pills would give me the stuck feeling all day so when I would try to eat I would really be miserable and have to vomit every time I would try. At times it would be so bad that I could not even drink my water without vomiting. I hope this will help you also. Chris

Topic: RE: The struggle over meat...
I wish I could be more optimistic. I eat meat and feels like it sits right under my chin for hours. I try it, and usually decide that I will check back in a week or two and see it goes any better. What I have added to agment the protein is yogurt. I eat about four 6 oz. cartons of sugar-free, fat free yogurt every day with 9 grams of protein per carton. I had my 12 week checkup with my surgeon on Thursday. I am down 77 pounds, a little over half way from 342 to the 195-200 range B-12 levels are low and I got an injection. The low meat diet I can live without. The B-12 derived from meat consumption is another thing altogether. I still avoid large meat-ladened meals. Thursday was a business dinner at the home of an Amish family. I declined the invitation, given it hurts watching people pig our for an hour and half. It also makes people uncomfortable dabbling in the food, and mainly play the role of spectator. Some people will tel you that you have got it easy with WLS, that you lose weight and it costs you nothing. As you and I are finding, the costs are subtle but costly nonetheless. Hang on. It will get better, but it will never be the same (thankfully)

Topic: The struggle over meat...
It's been *almost* 3 months since my surgery, I have a few days left to hit that milestone, on the 31st. I'm down *almost* 50 pounds, and my short term goal is to hit that 50 pound mark by the end of this coming week. What I'm curious to hear from you all is how well you are tolerating meat. It seems that no matter what I try, or how little I take in, any sort of meat (chicken, turkey, beef, ground beef, pork) makes me ill. Maybe there's some trick or secret to eating it that I haven't yet discovered. There are times when I can tolerate very tender chicken, and fish seems to be ok so long as it's very tender and fresh, but otherwise, and most times, it turns out to be a negative experience. So naturally I grow concerned about 'protein' intake and I try to get enough via skim milk, carnation breakfast drinks, cheese, yogurt, etc, but I miss being able to sit down to dinner and have a bit of what everyone else is eating without making a scene after a few bites over how I feel =( Any suggestions on what works for you all? Anyone else having this same issue? I'd appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks!

Topic: RE: BREAD
No bread here, either. I can eat some thin crackers, chex, and yes, thin crust pizza. Anything else is a no go. I guess it's just something we have to learn to deal with and it seems to be common to many post-op WLS patients.

Topic: BREAD
MELODY, I'm having trouble with bread also. I try every couple of weeks, but I just can't keep it down. I am able to eat thin crusty pizza and crackers. That helps a little when I'm really craving bread. My surgery was in September. Deb Carlson

It has been a huge success for me.. I am now down to 195 from 271. The day that I went to 200 was one of the best days of my life. May GOD bless each and every one.
