Topic: First time here- weight loss since July 25th
Hi all, just found this board. Didn't know there was a board for people that had their surgery the same month as me! Especially since I have been a member here for quite some time! ha! Anyway I have been reading posts from everyone and I see that people have lost LOTS more than me! ha! I have also read the posts of replies to those complaints and I have to say I used to feel that way, "wow I am a slow loser". But you know I have finally moved past that, and am just happy for where I am. I have 40-45 more pounds to go so I feel I am doing well. Like many of you said, when has anyone been able to say they have lost so much weight in such a short amount of time? I am thrilled with my three month progress. Well just wanted to say hello, and let's try to be upbeat about what we have lost, not what we have yet to lose! A positive attitude is key in this journey, I believe.

After reading other posts, I am beginning to feel like a snail in the losing category. Eating is such an issue with me, I hate to eat and do it because I have to. anyone else having that problem? I had my surgery on July 28, 2003.

Hi Stacie! I had an open RYN on 7/14/03. I've lost "50" pounds so far. I was thinking like you too by saying "only 50" pounds until someone else replied to me. She told me I needed to be thankful that I'm a success story in that I don't throw up everyday, I can tolerate almost any food and yes, I've lost FIFTY POUNDS in 3 1/2 months. When is the last time you were able to lose SEVENTY POUNDS in 4 months? Oh my gosh...SEVENTY POUNDS IS AWESOME!!! What is the matter with you, you ask? It sounds like some negative thinking going on in your head dear! Look at the brighter side, do what you're supposed to do, and the weight will come off! I don't know where you started, but I was 310 when I had my surgery. I'm 260 now. Everyone goes at their own pace. Thank God you're alive and doing well. Have a wonderful day!! ~Janet~

Topic: 82 pounds since July 15th
I had surgery July 15th and I am down 82 pounds since then, with a total of 97 for the year. I'm feeling real good and have alot of energy. I forget to eat alot. I usually eat twice a day. I try for three to four times but it is hard when you don't get hunger pains. I need to be keeping better track of my protein. I'm sure that I'm not getting 60 grams a day. I do pretty good on drinking water. I really don't care about eating any more. I only eat because I know I need to to be healthy. I'm trying to do my best to set some good habits in this six months of no appetite. Good luck to everyone on their individual journey.
