Hello, I had WLS on Jul 28, 2004--and have the same feelings now about food that I had before surgery. Although when I eat I can't eat that much, I think about food all the time. Right after WLS, I never thought about it, but the head hunger I experience is starting to feel like real hunger, and with a snow storm due for Sunday night, I'm thinking about what to eat when I am snowed in. I'm glad I am not alone in feeling what I do. Good luck to you. I have lost 87 lbs so far.

Hi Sharon, I had surgery on July 23, 2003. I have also slowed down on my weight loss. I think that is just what happens, but this morning I actually lost two pounds. Don't give up. Keep thinking positive. Brenda

Thank god - I'm not alone in this!!!! I thought I was a complete failure because I would be the only one struggling with the depression and chip-cravings! Thanks for posting on this subject everyone - it really, really helps to know I'm not alone!

I had my surgery on 7/25/03 - I feel like a loser because I actually got my weight down to 235 (-87 pounds) then this morning it was back up to 240. I know I haven't been that good about what I eat, but I haven't been real bad, either, and for it to go UP is very disheartening - on the other hand, it seems to be matching the rest of my life, so perhaps I'm just cursed or some-such-thing. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, as long as it's not going UP you're doing good. Best wishes and good luck!

I went to see my dr. yesterday he told me to start eating 3 meals a day, what food i consume doesn't amount to a full plate. I told him i eat alot of soups, he said they go thru u quickly, that's ok with me. I will have a few chips/dip i mean about 4 chips not very much compared to what we used to eat. All in all i'm doing wonderful, blood work came back ok. The only thing is dr's scales are alot higher than mine. oh well he wants to see me in 6 months. He also told me i will lose alot more weight. I told him i'm comfortable with this weight, he said i have no control over that. oh well. i will take what comes my way.. I've been drinking alot of coffee in my latte cup with milk doesn't seem to bother me. Well i will take the size 12 i'm wearing, i dont' think i ever wore a size 12...lol.. but all in all i'm happy so far with my results. i think were all doing great. Much success to you as well in your weight loss. Take care... Dorothy Gillette

I am very lucky, I think, I can just about eat anything. I have to watch the sugar content as I get a weird feeling if I have too much. I get dizzy and heart races for a few mins. Im guessing that is dumping although I do not get diarrhea but sometimes my stomach does hurt. I have no problems with breads or pastas but just limit them since they just take up more room that I could have with other foods. I am hungry often and will snack on whole wheat crackers and cheese or jerky. Some days I feel like I am eating all day long but I will look back and the small amounts I have don't come anywhere close to what I would eat before surgery.

Cathy, I am so happy for you! You and I share the same surgery date. My weight loss has really slowed down! I have lost 96.5, but I started out at 280 - so, of course, I am happy with the results so far, but all of us want it to come off faster than it does. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and tell you to keep up the good work! Neita
