Wow Pat!! Sorry to hear about the complications. I can relate to the ulcer issue though. July 27, 26 days after my surgery, I was on my death bed. I ended up having to get a blood transfusion of 5 pints of blood. I am glad to hear the ulcer and hole have healed!!! As far as the other issue with your behind, well, I didn't understand all the medical talk so I have no clue. Good Luck to you and many blessings from Louisiana, Dee

Well, it has been six months for me, and I am now 105 pounds less. I am particularly thrilled because six weeks after surgery, a HUGE ulcer perforated my pouch giving me peritonitis. Additionally, it ate a hole into my OLD stomach, and my surgeon said I would probably not lose any more weight until that hole was repaired. After a couple of months and LOTS of prayer, the ulcer and the hole healed! I am back to losing weight and doing just great. I did hit a plateau for about a month, but took a long hard look at my fluid intake and food choices. That made the difference. Now, my newest problem is what my neurologist calls "carpal tunel of the butt"!!! Due to rapid weight loss, the siatic nerve has become entrapped in the piriformis muscle and causes siatica!!! I am in physical therapy (has helped somewhat) and the neurologist gave me a cortisone injection (helped only minimally). Now there is talk of a nerve block. Anyone else had this problem????

I had a battle with Ryan's before. They wouldn't honor my card. I did pay full price and got sick. I told the manageras he was sitting down to eat, to enjoy his meal because I had basically paid for it. I am bad.....But it made me mad that they thought that I was lying. Haven't been back in 5 months. Congrats on the weightloss. You are doing great. Paula -109

OMG, what a journey this has been. Who would have thought that I would be in a size 34 jeans or a size 14. I wasn't this size in middle school. I have found out that my 15 yr reunion is in August. I can't wait to see my classmates, or better yet, I can't wait for them to see me. lol. I know.... It will be fun. New me and new husband since they saw me in '94. Hope everyone is doing well. Plateaus are hard to deal with but don't get discouraged. It will break and then you will lose like 5 lbs nearly overnight. Strange how that happens.... Hugs Paula

Congratulations on a great job Bart! I know how you feel. I read your profile and can relate about going from not walking to shoveling snow. I live in Green Bay, WI and have gotten in a bit of snow shoveling myself the past couple of weeks. I was complaining about the snow, but I think I'd take that over the bone chilling cold we have right now. Temps to minus 14 with wind chills of 35-40 below. Brrr! I'm freezing all the time! Keep up the great job and keep up your profile. You're a great encouragement to others. Lori Danielson -128#

Hi Stacie, I'm there with you sister! I haven't lost anything since the 9th. Gained 7#'s this past week with my period. That's come off so I'm hoping to see the scale move this next week. It seemed last month I hung in the 90's, zipped through the 80's and now have spent weeks in the 70's. NOT my idea of fun. While I've lost 128#'s, I have another 125 to go...minimum. I know I need to kick up the exercise. It's been so cold since Christmas, I haven't been getting in the exercise...and really hate mall walking. Guess I have to do something to get me over the hump and quit making excuses. I want to maximize this time as much as possible. I was just checking out the before and after pictures. Check them out if you get a minute. Mine were just posted today. Of course it's not an "after" but an "in progress".

Topic: RE: Anyone have a bowel obstruction?
Hi Shannon, Congratulations on your terrific weight loss. It sounds like you went through a nightmare. The closest I came to an obstruction was not moving my bowels for 3 days. It was so painful I would cry. I knew I would pay the price for not drinking enough water. Is that what caused yours? What did the doctors say it was from? Hope you are feeling better. Good luck to you. Angie
