Topic: RE: Return of Appetite
Try to remember too, those early months when you felt you couldn't get in all of your liquid or even enough protein and worried about not eating enough! Now, with a bit of an appetite and more space, you CAN get in those basic requirements.
Having an appetite is nothing to be afraid of, just feed that appetite with the good things and use all of your willpower to avoid the garbage food that has little to no nutritional value.
Topic: RE: Anyone else already looking at plastic surgery?
My surgery was 07/15/2003 and my surgeon said don't even as****il 18 months have passed! 244lbs start now 156lbs and still losing. The rate has slowed but it is still happening! I'm only 5 foot tall so the most I should weigh is 120. The outlook sure is better than last July at 244 and wondering if I would lose anything!
Topic: RE: Protein
I find I get the highest percent of my protein in the form of supplements such as unflavored powder from Unjury.com --excellent stuff, mixes well with *anything* and there's no taste. It can also go in fairly warm liquids (shouldn't go above 130 degrees) such as coffee, soups or sauces. Or from Sci-Fit amino (tropical fruit is my fav) in water which also helps me get my water quota in. Breakfast is usually a smoothie with the unflavored Unjury and afternoon water includes the Sci-Fit tropical fruit. The Unjury is 20 grams and the Sci-Fit as I use it is about 25 so there's 45 grams of easily digestable protein right there.
Fitday shows that while I do get a farily good intake of protein "naturally" from the foods I eat; I know that the amount I actually am able to consume isn't all the large so I feel more confident I'm getting better absorption from the supplements I use.

Topic: Return of Appetite
Does anyone else feel like their appetite return could set you up for failure? I have had my appetite back for over a month now. I also found that I can eat sugar & not dump. It seems like there are alot of days that I can eat more than I should. Of course I worry that my old habits will take over again. Is there anyone else that is having this trouble? Maybe I just need some reassurance. Thanks for any feedback

Topic: RE: I think I am losing too much
I am 5'7. My fears once again, lie in the fact that I am only 6 months out. I go to my surgeon tomorrow for a check up. Hopefully, he will be able to help out. Thanks for your input.

What do you eat in a typical day to get in all of your protein? Do you find that your protein in take is lacking or are you right on point?
Topic: I've only lost 80 pounds :-(
My surgery was on 7-29-03 and I have only lost 80 pounds. Any suggestions? I eat pinto beans, chili, chicken, hot and sour soup and lots of popsicles. I drink more than enough water. I have never cheated. I never get cravings for fat and sugary foods any more. Do you think it is because of my age? I am 49. What are you eating at 6 months?
Topic: RE: 6 1/2 months and down 130 pounds!
Hi Denice -- You go girl!! Are you exercising in addition to eating less?
I'm right there with ya -- well, sorta. I'm down about 120lbs. total, but just 90 since surgery, but the clothes thing is awesome, isn't it?? I'm also thanking God for all He has blessed me with!
Prayers will be lifted up for your husband -- may he do as well as you.

I am a slow loser.....I started out at 239 and I am now 158...Boy I wish I was 137...But I understand your fear of losing 2 much..I hope with time you will be slowing down on your st loss. How tall are you...and how much did they bypass??? I am 5'2 and they bypassed 150cm...which is a lot for a light wt....so I have been told.
Wishing you the very best
