I take Calcium replacement from Dr's we have moved from Fl and living in maryland seeing military dr which I have to say I am not impressed with them here right now.. the Dr doesnt know anything about the Surgery and what he needs to do and when I told him what test I have to have he tells me I do not know what I am talking about I was put on B-6 and b-12 shots because mine were running really low and he told me I didnt need that and fought tooth and nail with me and when I said okay but what happends when they run so low i am put back into hosptial ?? well it happened and I looked at him and my 23 year old Daughter "BLESS HER HEART told him he was a Dr only because he found his medical degree in a jackerjax box.. I laughed so hard I pee'd my pant. I get so upset at the dr's who dont know anything about it and continue to treat us patients like we are crazy Good luck on your journey.. Dionna

Hmmm sounds like something that needs to be monitored! The last couple of times that I have been to the Hygenist she asked if I had diabetes. I said no but I have had Gastric Bypass. Anyway she didn't like the way my gums were looking. They weren't inflamed but were retreating or shrinking. Anyway I have been very diligent about taking all my vits since then and will see soon if it has helped. Do you take Calcium Citrate? And Dry D? Jen L.

I can definitely relate. I went to the dentist and found that I had 8 cavities. I asked him if it had to do with my wls but he wasn't sure. He didn't know much about the surgery. I am having a lot of work done on my teeth.

Don't panic, that's bad for us over eaters to do. Definitely try South Beach, that's what I follow and I love the options. My weight loss stalled too, but I wasn't exercising, and I was eating all day long. Last October I started taking metabolife, started walking and worked my way up to 5 miles EVERY day, and I follow South Beach. I had stalled at 208 pounds, down 102 fom my original 310 before surgery, and now I'm at 165 and wear a size 8. I would like to loose 10 more pounds, and I know I will. I still eat often,, but I make better choices now. You can do it too, just love yourself, and be good to you, but do what's right for you and your health. You can do it, start somewhere. It's not wrong to make a mistake, it's wrong to stop trying.

I know what you mean. I got down to 190, had a tummy tuck and breast reduction, and then gained back up to 208. I talked to the bariatric surgeon and he said that the surgery had done all it could for me. I really knew that from all of my research but it came off so easily to begin with. Last October I started taking Metabolife, and I finally started exercising regularly (I had not exercised at all before), and I follow the South Beach Diet. I am down to 165 and would like to loose 10 more pounds, but I wear a size 8 and everyone thinks I'm small enough, including the Doctors. Never thought I'd hear that in my lifetime. I reccommend making the sacrifice to exercise regularly (I walk 5 miles EVERY day), and if you are going to eat often, make good choices. Look into Weigh****chers, or look at the South Beach Diet, I love it. It takes time to make new eating habits. You get better at it all the time as long as you start somewhere. Give yourself some grace, it's ok to make a mistake, it's not ok to stop trying.

And here I thought I was the only one. But, my story is a "touch" different. Was 302 lbs, then got down to 151lbs. I was happy with my loss, and my new clothes, but, crisis happened in my life, and... well... Let's just say I did a LOT of soul searching, and travelling this last year. BECAUSE of the traveling, I lost track of my eating habits. I know, I know. I've been promising to go back, and I am slowly working on it, but, I am too afraid to step on the scale. I had been down to a size 12 (just a touch "snug") and am now in a size 16 (also a tuch snug). But I WILL get back on track. I swear I will!!!!!! We all will!

You are definitely not alone, RoseAnn. I went from 335 in 7/03 to 155 in September of 04. Since then, there's been a slow, steady climb back up on the scale, and down in my habits. I have no one to blame but myself. Unlike you, who took action at 20 pounds, I kept letting it go and go, and now I am veering ever closer to going back to 200 (194 this morning). I vow each day to stop and go back to doing it right, but so far, I haven't been able or willing to do it. I have a real chocolate addiction--and it's funny, because I didn't really have one before--and one really awful habit, which I did have before: I eat in the car-=-practically all the time! I had that habit broken for months and never thought it would come back, but it did. Now I feel like I need hypnotic suggestion, or some other drastic move, to get me back on track. Just as a point of information, I have never had any plastics (though I sure could use a lower body lift) and until I broke my elbow 3 weeks ago, I was going to the gym, spinning and doing cardio at least 3-4 times a week. I have to: stop eating in my car; stop eating fast food; stop eating chocolate; stop drinking with my meals and stop drinking sugary drinks, period. At least I know what I have to do--now I have to do it! Good luck to you on your continuing journey--I have come too far to backslide all the way. I just pray I can stop it soon. Amy
