I never thought that a year ago I would be down to this weight at time of surgery I was at 308 if not more since I would not weigh myself pas that weight. Feeling great but I do have to go and have my gall-bladder removed, but I can handle that. Seems like one of my favorite things to eat is Tortilla Chips. Good luck to all Cathie

Topic: RE: Sagging arms?
I wear longer sleeves and have been saving my money for PS. My kids like to touch "the bat wings" like its silly putty or somthing. My arms dont bother me as much as my tummy area and my breasts. I too am very thankful for WLS, I guess loose skin is just another part of our journey. On the brite side...loose skin is better than 100+ extra pounds. Best wishes -Becca

Topic: Sagging arms?
I'm trying not to complain... I am so thankful for this surgery but it seems I've went from being paranoid about my weight to being paranoid about my lose skin... especially my arms. What are all of you doing about this?

Hi Lori, You're not alone, I think quite a few of us are stuck. I'm losing slowly, but when I went for my six month check up I had lost a total of 94 lbs and thought I was doing well exercising three times a week, but my doctor told me I needed to exercise more, so now I exercise 6 days a week and I can definitely tell the inches are coming off even though the scale barely moves. I'm not giving up, I'm going to keep trying and see what happens. By the way I'm originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!

Topic: help! I'm stuck
My surgery date is july 1 of 2003. I was loosing well for six months, then it slowed after January, but still dropping sizes. But THIS plateu has me worried because it is so close to my year date, and I probably won't loose any more after that. I was a ":lightweight" with only a little over a 100 lbs to loose. I started 245, and now am fluctuating between 157 and 161. Any ideas on jump starting this? I've been exercising about 3 times a week, so I know that is taken care of. I just don't want to go through all this and be "tubby", especially since I have this huge flap to live with. Thanks!

Topic: RE: BACK PAIN
Good to know. I have pain and sometimes get rashes under them. When all this is done I"m gonna need a panni and a boob lift. Heck, I'm gonna need a complete body lift, but can't afford it. OHIP will cover the panni/tummy, but will only cover a boob lift if there is documented pain/rashes. Cathy O'Connor 458 start 295 current. Etobicoke, ON

Topic: RE: What are you eating?
I stay away from breads for the most part. I tend to stick to yogourt, chicken, fish, veggies, eggs. I have dumping syndrome, so have to avoid sugary things. I find I can eat half a chicken breast and my veggies, for example. What I do is eat what I can on my plate and when I'm full, the meal is done, as far as I'm concerned. It keeps me from grazing and grazing and grazing. I loathe water, so have resorted to Crystal Light in order to get the necessary amount of water down. Up until recently, my exercise has been swimming 3 days a week. Does this help? Cathy
