Topic: It's all so clear, now...
Having this surgery was like having my kids...you really don't know what you're in for until you're on the other side and neck-deep in a new life! I just walk around and say 'WOW' alot. What a roller-coaster! Ten times easier in retrospect than I thought it would be, and I have soooo much more energy. It is so cool (no pun intended) to be able to withstand these deep-South summers minus all the extra weight I was lugging around. Just to be able to move, and feel lighter...I still do NOT have much of a handle on my self-image. I'm still in jeans and tshirts, alot, under the guise that 'I'm a laid-back kind of jeans and tshirt' person. I have yet to mentally and emotionally catch up to my new size, and that affects me in a number of ways. I will be going along through my day, not thinking about me, and suddenly realize that I just slipped through a small door opening, or sat in a narrow space, or pulled the seatbelt across my lap without having to extend it out. I shop for clothes and am mildly surprised at the way I react to the actual largeness of the 3x tshirts, 44DD bras, size 10 Granny Panties.
I am not afraid, anymore. My slate is clean, my lab numbers are boringly normal, and I've got lots and lots of years and time and energy to live the life I've been waiting to live. I'd do it again today.

Topic: WLS books..
I was wondering if by chance if any of you would have some old books about the WLS that you no longer read or would like to share with others ?? I live in Eastern Colorado, and the news and knowledge about the WLS is not as known about out here.. And I have shared All the books that I have with people interested in getting the WLS, and left them in the doctor offices around here.. for other to read.. So I thought I would ask all of you if by chance if you would have any books that you might have around that you would be interested in sharing with others..
Please feel free to e mail me for an address to send them .. So that others will be able to read them as well.. Being able to share the books with other that are of less fortunate in being able to get these books, and being able to spread the knowledge about WLS is something I am working hard at trying to do.. SO I come to this board asking if by chance anyone would have some books that you have already read and would like to share with other to please contact me... As well it would be nice if you send a book or 2 if you would be ever so nice to write a little something about you and your journey inside the book so others would get to know a bit about you as well.. feel free to contact me at .. [email protected] And I want to thank you all in advance.. Audrey

Dear Beth,
I am So sure that you are not alone in this struggle here.. Once a person depends on food as a confort it would only be normal to assume that it will always be there for us.. After all this surgery does not put a fix on our minds only on our bodys..

I also have a additional note book on measure ments and my weights.. So this way I can track my good days and water gaining days as well, this also helps me from getting discouraged .. Audrey
