WOW!! You sound like me!!! I had surgery 7/22/03, 267#, size 4X clothes, and size 15 Granny Panties!!!! Today I am 135#, size 8-10, and size 6 Panties .... I truly believe that those of us who had surgery in July 2003 were BLESSED by a higher being. Perhaps it was our Obesity Help Angel
Almost verbatim, I can recite what you have said. My lab numbers are great, I have phenomenal energy, and I feel FABULOUS!!! Congratulations to the WLS Class of July 2003!!!

Topic: RE: what is normal?
Don't give up guys it will get better. I had my surgery July 30, 2003, I was losing 10-11lbs a month until May. Since May up until now (3 months) I have lost a total of 15 lbs. I was wondering what was going on, I was still eating the same food so what was the problem. I began to exercise more and I also increased my protein and water, now I notice the weight has began to come off again. I finally reached my goal, but I still want to lose atleast 5 more lbs. to be considered normal.

I read Carnie Wilsons books. "Gut Feelings" & "I'm still hungry." She has a great sense of humor and an awesome look on life....

Topic: WLS BOOKS
Good afternoon,
I was wondering if anyone had titles of books that I can either check out at the library or borrow. Any tips will be greatfully appreciated.

Hi Beth, I battle with depression, after WLS I stopped my anti-depressant because I could not swallow pills...then decided I would give it the "Old try-to-do-it on my own". DUMBIEST thing I ever did. After 10 months I went on Wellbutrin XL in May and finally things are turning around to a better frame of mind for me. I suffered with depression before WLS and the surgery does not cure depression. Take meds, get counseling, whatever you need to be successful. WLS is a tool, but we need healthy minds to go along with our new bodies or we will sabbotage our success. I'm not afraid to admit I get counseling, I refuse to blow the best "weight loss tool" I ever have been given. I am determined to keep this weight off by whatever means I need to do, I want a happy, healthy lifestyle from this point forward and I with the Lord's help will do it. You can to. Take care and be GOOD to yourself.
