I sort of went against "protocol" by calling my surgeon's office to check today, but I couldn't wait any longer. My surgeon's assistant went on vacation the Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend, and specifically told me not to call her after she got back (yesterday), she'd call me. I think I've been pretty patient...my consult with the surgeon was 5/6/03. She acted very peeved, but let me know she received approval yesterday, and her next available date was 7/7/03. I practically yelled "i'll TAKE it!" I'm kind of nervous and scared and sort of in shock; i guess i never really thought i'd be approved, because i'm a lightweight. Now that i am, my mind is kind of reeling with the possibility that I may actually be "normal" within a year's time (weight-wise).

Hello - all of you July babies time is quickly closing in on us and I can't speak for anyone else but, I'm sooooo happy. Last year I lost 40lbs. and was looking and feeling good only to regain them. My legs are giving me trouble again they are achy and swollen. I know with all my heart and believe woth all my faith that God will carry me through this without any problems.

I am so excited and nervous too. I just can't wait to have it be over with. I have so many questions as to what to expect when I come to, after surgery. I am having a laproscopic gastric bypass...not sure of the technical name for it. This is scary for me since my husband died 4 months ago in the same hospital I will be in. He is different though since he was sick. But I still worry about my kids and if I will be okay. I have to do this though. I will just walk in my faith and go or it. Pray for me, please. I pray each day for everyone having surgery that day.
