my surgery date is july22,2003. I have been eating everything bad for me. I wish i could stop. I feel i need to get it out of the way because i wont be able to eat them ever again.I dont want to gain more weight has anyone else felt this way before surgery? Also after surgery are you really not hungry? what about head hunger? thanks please email me back. {[email protected]}

Even though I am a pre-op I trully believe that post-op life is easier if you have a nutritionist to help you out. Do you have one? Included in my aftercare with my surgeon is seeing the nutritionist for a year. I think I see her ever 2 or 3 months but I can call her or email as much as I need. I have talked to many others that say the nutritionist has really made a difference. I plan on seeing my nutritionist as long as I need her.

The class is going to be a god send for you. LOL The last few days are the worst I bet. I am going camping the week before, I wont have time to worry or think about surgery. (I have 4 children that alone keeps me busy, but camping even more so)

My name is Melody and I am in North Dakota. I am also scheduled for surgery on 7/22. We share the same new rebirth day. I am 5'3 and weigh 236. I am hoping to get down to at least 150 but more would be nice. How about you and your background? Look forward to chatting with you.

Hi everyone,
I have my surgery scheduled for 7/22/03. Although I really want this surgery I have some concerns about my ability to stick with the diet and really lose, and keep off, the weight I lose. Does anyone know someone who has had this surgery for longer than five years to share their success?

The days are ticking by slowly, it seems! I am SO excited though....I feel like a little kid, who is eagerly awaiting a visit from Santa Claus!! However, I am taking a summer session at Hutchinson Community College this month...It lasts from June 2nd thru June 26th! It's Monday thru Thursday, from 7:00 - 10:00 pm....Between the classes and all of the homework, I can see the days going by, much faster than I am expecting!!!!!

I dont understand where people working for the public or the medical field specifically get off being "peeved" at people. They are there to serve US. To help Us. It is like they do not understand how much this means to us, how it is a life changing event. How can we NOT want to know things as soon as possible. The fact that you got the information you wanted when you called says she could have called you by now. You have a right to call and find out about your medical needs and wants. GOOD LUCK with surgey!
