Topic: I am having my lower body lift and Mastopexy this Friday!!!
I don't post much anymore. I am so busy with my new life. I am having my lower body lift and mastopexy (with implants) this Friday. I can't wait. The doctor is also fixing my hernia. I will be under for about 6 - 7 hours. I am alittle nervous but I am so ready to have this surgery. I have wanted this for a long time. I reached my goal weight of 107 last August. Please pray for me.....and keep me in your prayers.... Melissa

Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for the advice. I am always trying to get in my water, but it's all a matter of just doing it. I work in a gym, but am so busy helping everyone else out, that I forget to make time for myself. Good for you for making it to your goal. I did check out your profile. Thanks again. Continued success----------Angie

Hi Rebecca, Sorry I did not respond sooner. I was away on vacation. Congrats on your weight loss and let me know how you make out with your plastic surgery. My plastic surgeon will not perform the breast/augmentation and tummy tuck at the same time---he said it was an insurance thing. Good luck to you and e-mail when you are up to it.........Angie Wagner

Angie, Hang in there the weight will come off. I had my surgery 7/30/03 after awhile the weight slowed down, but I notice when I stopped weighing myself everyday, or every other day, and continued eating right, when I did decide to weigh in I had lost, if only a pound. I started out at 276 and I can't believe it I'm now at 139. This isn't a easy task you really have to work at it I'm 5'4 I actually believe the heavier you are the more you lose. I contribute most of my weight loss to exercise and drinking alot of water. If you have a chance check out my profile it has some good information about me and the surgery. I have passed my goal and eating more carbs to stop losing. GOD bless!

My surgery date was 7-3-03 and I lost from 385lbs to 194lbs in 6 months. After that my weight loss has just been a balance of the scales. I go from 190 to 200. I don't actually lose anymore than that. My abdominoplasty and breast lift/reduction are tomorrow. I hope to loose at least 15 lbs. from that....I guess I'll just be happy.

Leah, As a gastric bypass patient and a pateint that does not have a thyroid gland, and a tumor on my putuatary gland and several other issues with my endocraine system I was able to reach my goal. I'm sooo sorry that your going through all of this, however I was glad to read that you will be seeing an Endo doctor. I have had to surgeries on my putuatary gland and for the rest of my life I will have 2 mri's a year, just to make sure the tummor is not growing back. I wish you all the best, and please keep us posted on your progress Melissa in TX

Hi Lawrence, Congrats on your weight loss and for responding to my post. Good for you for listening to your body. You are the only one who knows what you are feeling . If gaining back a few lbs. made you feel better--than that is great. Good luck with the tummy tuck. Let me know how you make out...Oh last week I made my goal of weighing 171. Boob job is January and tummy tuck is after that in maybe March. Insurance will cover only part of the tummy tuck and not the boobs. I saved so much on our food bills that I will be okay. Is insurance covering your tummy tuck?? just wondering..............Angie

I too had my surgery in July 2003....went from 291 to 180 by april of this year...the weight just gradually and stedily came off...however, although my doctor's goal weight for me was to be 175, at 180 i physically did not feel good...i often felt weak...i decided not to focus on the scale but rather on how i felt...i since hav put on 10 pounds but feel better both physically and emotionally...I am schedule to have my tummy tuck this month (8th)...with that procedure I am expecting to lose aprrx 5-10 pounds placing me back to the 180 mark...i dont know if i will ever be at 175 pounds nor do i know if i would want to be...since I feel what counts is how you feel both emotionally and physically that should count...best of luck...Ü

Hi Neita, Congrats to you for losing so much weight. I found out that my insurance will cover removing the skin from the stomach area but not the pulling down of the skin above the belly button to make the"tuck". The boob lift and implant are not covered, but I am going to do it and come up with the money anyway I can. I told my family this year instead of gifts just contribute to the "reconstruction of Angie" fund. I am also considering getting rid of saddle bags at the top of my thighs---sometime in the future------------good luck to you----Angie
