Ok, I am having surgery on July 9th and i feel very unprepared now... i understand alot of the items on your list but am confused about salad tongs??? I am bringing a fan (i am always hot) and a phone card. The pre op nurse said no cell phones in the hospital and collect calls are very expensive. What about YOUR pillow? Good luck to you, i will say a prayer...

Topic: My New B-Day is July 8th
Well its almost here and starting to get a bit nervous. I would like to thank everyone for all there support and prayers. My new B-day is now going to be July 8th. Best of luck to all whos going through this, Mine was a long journey , But now its here. ( always remember it will be here before you know it ). Take care everyone and see you all on the other side.

Sheryl, my name is Joanne Miller and am schedualed for the 24th at Arcadia Methodist Hospital in Arcadia Ca. I am keeping myself busy with making sure I have everything ready, from stocking the house with everything I'll need when I come home, to what am I bringing with me to the hospital, to, well everything else. Hey all! Okay, I'm getting stuff together for my surgery, (July 14) and I need to make sure I have everything. Please let me know if I've forgotten anything: Chapstick, protein powder, flavoring extracts, timer, crystal light, salad tongs, nutri-shakes, vitamins, bathrrom wipes, comfortable clothes for trip home, gown for hospital stay, (decided against a robe...) cd-walkman and books on cd, mashed potatoes, and baby food. (I think that's all) Am I forgetting anything?? Please let me know... Thanks! ~Cyndi

My surgery is also on July 9th, Brenda. I'm having it done at Arcadia Methodist Hospital--Lap RNY. At any given moment, I am either excited or terrified! I had a snag arise at the end of last week and am scheduled for a needle biopsy on one of my breasts tomorrow--2 days before my surgery. My surgeon decided that he wanted to take a better look at a small spot on my mammograms--something that has been there for a year or two--it hasn't changed and my PCP thought that because it is unchanged and very small that a biopsy wasn't indicated. This has kind of thrown me for a loop. I am 99.99% sure that it is nothing, but there's always that 0.01%!!! I so want all of this anticipation to be over. I'll be praying for all of us who share this surgery date. Let's look forward to a NEW life...
