I'm so excited!! I am scheduled to have surgery in just 4 days. It has been a bumpy ride, but it is almost over. Just thinking of all the freedom I will experience after the surgery is almost overwhelming! A new, illness-free body. Wow, that is mind-blowing. And of course, I have to give God credit and praise for opening this door for me. He has placed everything in order to make this surgery and recovery a sucess. I am trusting in Him. Best wishes to everyone else who is scheduled for surgery on that day, as well as those who have other surgery dates. July 17th, 2003 is a day to remember forever. Smooches! *Ce-Ce*

Hi Annie! I don't know what a "filter" is that you mentioned but I wanted to wish you well on your upcoming surgery! My date is next week, the 21st. I can't wait to see what the other side has for me. I am thinking good thoughts and I am going to make a list of things I want to leave behind besides the weight! There were other things which "weighed" me down as well as the pounds and there isn't going to be any room for them in my future! My prayers will be with you and welcome to the "class of July 2003"! God bless!

Carlene, I am having my surgery next Monday, so I can't speak from personal experience. From all the profiles I have read, one thing that is certain is that we all are so different. I think as long as you are following your doctors instructions and listening to your body, you will be fine. Is it really important how much and how fast? Don't start this wonderful new journey by putting expectations on yourself. Follow directions and it will work! Look at each day as an opportunity to live the life that you have always wanted, not the days that tormented you. You have been given a wonderful gift, appreciate it and live as though you have already lost all those unwanted pounds. Before you know it, the pounds will melt away. Fill those moments of doubt with ideas of what you can do to help yourself succeed, like excercising or doing something you really enjoy. Be your own best friend! Replace that fear with faith! We are going to be great. We have never done this before nor have we had a "tool" such as this to help us along the way. You have already taken the hardest step and that was the courage that it took to have surgery. Don't worry about anyone else but yourself. Don't abandone yourself, okay? Take care. JoAnn
