Hello to all of my WLS friends. I had my WLS on the 9th and am doing well. I was so glad that my doc was able to do the lap surgery and was spared from the open procedure. I was doing well, and then had a setback. I was taking all of my meds in the same way as before the WLS and had a problem with overabsorption. Lets just say that I no longer take hligh blood pressure meds, diabetic meds or very much of anything except for my vitamins. I am dropping weight at the rate of about a pound a day. I am thrilled!!!!! I have already gone down 1 size in my clothes. Like most overweight people, I have clothes in every size from small-superduper large. I am gooing to go through my closet and start getting rid of the clothes that no longer fit. I will wright more later. Good luck and prayers for all of you my friends...Brenda from Apopka, FL

I'm just ten days from surgery. Wow! My nerves are starting to show and I can feel the heartburn starting already. I'm nervous, but excited about the outcome. I passed all of my surgery clearance appointments with no problems. If that many specialists say it is okay for me to have surgery, I am reassured that things will be alright.

I know that this has probably been covered once before , but does anyone have any pointers on what to take with you to the hospital ? Crossword puzzles, chapstick, or anything else I might need or anything to make my apprx. 5 day stay anymore comfortable. Any suggestions on what to buy for home before my surgery....such as vitamins , protein supplements,or what ever might be benefical to me my first few days home... Any info would be greatly apprecaited..Thanks..Donna
