Hello everyone, I didn't realize this part of the site existed! I had my surgery on the 29th of July and I feel I have done fairly well with everything. I had a lot of difficulty finding foods that agree with my system, but I have dealt with it. I started out May 15th, 2003 at 424 lbs. I had to lose weight to qualify for surgery because I had gained so much in the previous 6 mo. I went into surgery at 410. I weighed myself this AM and I am currently @ 300 lbs. I can't wait for that 300# mark to be gone forever! Hope all of you are doing well! Have a great day! Cynthia

Hello Cynthia. Great job! Keep up the good work. I had my surgery 7/3/03. I have lost 92 lbs. I started at 288lbs and now I am at 196lbs. I never thought I would see a size 16 again, but I am there. I feel great, and I tend to eat chicken alot, scared of other things, but I'm doing my best. Well, take care and keep up the good work!! Lillie

Thanks! You've also done a great job! A size 16 is WAY down the road for me (but at least it's on the road)! This surgery is the best! Cynthia

Great job Cynthia! My RNY was 07/15/2003 and I have lost 80 pounds forever...244/164 I now weigh less than when I got married in 1976 to my wonderful, supportive husband! He has seen me many sizes, all UP the scale but only pictures of me at a lesser weight. I'm so excited for you and your successful journey that you have embarked on. Go get'm girl!

i am very new to this page as well, didn't know that this part of the site existed either. i have truly been blessed by what i've read here, and i plan to visit this page on a regular basis so that i can stay abreast on issues that may and will come up as i continue this journey on the other side, as a "LOSER". WOW, i can't believe i actually typed (called, said) that word "loser", but that is exactly what i am, and i give God the glory. may everyone continue to be blessed, and may the families who are suffering (from complications or deaths) from this surgery, find solace/comfort in HIS WORD.
