How much have you lost?
Hey, I had my surgery on july 1, and I was right at 100 lbs overweight. at nine weeks, I had only lost 33, and it makes me discouraged because it seems like everyone else has lost more than me. I've been exercising, but i had introduced some carbs into my diet. I'm going to try to back them off and see if it improves. A few things have gotten way to small, but I had gained so much weight, I had to loose 20 lbs to get into 80% of my fat clothes!. My 18's are starting to get loose, but at this time of the year, it is hard to think about buying new ones. I understand your discouragement, but I figure if I'm eating these tiny amounts compared to what I used to do, I will have to loose weight. Even though my wl doesn't even average to 4 lbs a week (more like 3.5) it is weight I couldn't have lost on my own, and for that I am grateful.
Take care and let me know how you are doing after your checkup

Hi Dominique, My surgery was 7/15/2003 and I've lost 36 pounds. But I agree with the others our bodies are all different. I'm down some sizes on top half but boy oh boy the bottom half is not keeping the same lose pace. My stomach still seems huge to me! Give it time and allow yourself a break, it will come off!
HEY Dominique.....I had surgery 7/17 and to date lost about 35lbs. I have been very discouraged, but upon reading more profiles on this site, I have found that "slow" losing is more common than rapid weight drops. BUT I also introduced carbs into my eating and that may have something to do with it. Best wishes and take one day at a time.(I need to follow my own advice..lol)
Hi! I, too, am frustrated! I had my surgery on 7/9/03 and have only lost 42 pounds in 8 weeks. I keep seeing others who are or have dropped a lot more. I reach 9 weeks post op today and will weigh again tonight. But, I am still disappointed at the rate I am losing.

Hi there! I had open RNY on 9Jul03 and have lost 58lbs so far. It doesnt seem like enough to me, but I have also gone from a size 26pants and 28shirt to an 18jeans (not stretch) and 14/16 top! The scale isnt always the best way to measure your success. I feel AMAZING! I work out nearly every day so I"m probably replacing some fat with muscle. Keep up the good work and cut out the carbs! You're doing great! Remember, its a tool..not the solution.

Hi Dominique, I had surgery on July 9m 2003
So far I've lost about 50 lbs it went quick the first month, but the weight loss has slowed down to a crawl, only lost about 6 lbs last month, but I have been lossing inches, cause now I can fit into old jeans and dresses that I thought were a lost cause and was about to give away. I am happy with the loss so far. I'm just scared, because I can eat so much more now and I'm no where near what I want to weigh in the long run
