I am so nervous and excited at the same time, I hate pain, I really hope it's not too uncomfortable, I guess if you make it through 4 cesaerean sections, and 3 prior lap procedures, this one should go well. It's getting use to the smaller food amounts, I like to drink water, do you feel thirsty much? Because i am a water gulper. any response on procedure followup care or pain mangement would be greatful, a few prayers wouldn't hurt either!!

Hi Dina, I am so proud of you for making the decision to have WLS. The decision making process and the approval is the hardest part of all. I had my WLS on the 9th. Yes there is some pain, but girl you know what to expect after all you have been through. It is important to drink lots of water after the surgery, but you will not be able to gulp. It will come right back up. Sips are better as not to swallow alot of air. Take your pillows and a good pair of slippers as you will walk alot. I took several nice gowns but did not wear them. Where the drain and g-tube are inserted leak for a few days and this will stain your gowns. I just wore the good old butt showing hospital gowns with my robe on top for walks. Take something nice and loose for the ride home as you will be more comfortable. I hope my suggestions help. I will say a prayer for you and your family as I truely believe in the power of prayer. Your WLS friend.....Brenda from Apopka, FL
