I am riding the emotional roller coaster. I am set for surgery on July 23 in Houston with Dr. Naaman. I am excitedly scared to death. Does that make sense? Does anyone else have the question about leaving last wishes....just in case?? I can't decide if that is negative thinking or just good planning. I really am looking forward to life on the other side...I can't wait to have this behind me.

Hi pat!!! Congrats...my surgery is the 29th. I have left "last wishes" It's alway good, in my opinion, to be prepared. Although you don't want to be negative, it's not really it's being prepared. You are in the Father's hands! God Bless! ---Lynn Sherrer

Hi Pat, I, too, am scheduled to have wls on July 23rd. My Dr. is Robert Bell, Yale Hospital, New Haven CT. I am not afraid, though I will probably get more nervous closer to the day. I have already had two major surgeries (both open) Emergency C-Section and a Total Hysterectomy, so I don't think this will be any worse, pain wise. I am ready, to go forward with the rest of my life, getting healthier and feeling better about myself. I have a strong faith in God, and trust Him to get me through the surgery and give me the strength to do what I need to do. As far as last wishes, I feel like this, if you feel that you need to do that, then you should. Yale asks for you to bring a living will with you if you have one. I will probably just write something up for my husband, should anything happen. Take care, you'll do fine. God Bless.
