I did it! I cried so much thinking i was never going to wake up. I kept thinkjng "im alive!!!" Not sure why i did that to myself since i was probablh as low risk as could be. So happy that an iety is over and now onto the big lifestyle changes. Im so ready to be a healthier, more energetic woman (and mama....andtracher...and wifey)!

I would like to know what people think is going to be the hardest part from here on. The eating techniques? Hormones? Getting enough protein? Thanks for your advice!

Congrats!
I wasn't emotional up until they wheeled me into the OR, and I woke up thinking what did I just do to myself.  Now 9 days later I'm doing good.
Hardest part for me so far is getting in all the fluids and protein.  I'm just not hungry or thirsty, and very tired so most of my day is taken up with naps.  I'm sure it will get better,  just have to keep working at it.

Personally my hardest challenge is that I want to eat and drink more than I can. I'm not allowed to eat food for 3 weeks but the beverages get old. I want something salty and I can't get that in my water, tea, powerade zero or even protein shakes. Its funny to me that even though I just had surgery I am ready to enjoy my life more. I didn't realize how much our lives really revolved around food. We had people over today and my mom kept apologizing to me for making food.. I keep telling her and my daughters I am fine. This is a decision that I made and I will get to eat again soon I just can't do it right now. I get they still need to eat I am just glad I have a cold right now and can't smell most of it. The cold is a blessing in disguise.

My surgery has gong off without a hitch. I was able to do liquids 24 hours after surgery and have tolerated liquids perfectly. I do like popsicle too because it is something I can chew and melt in my mough and it counts in my liquid intake. Anything you drink counts, medicine as well. I must say so far that my herbal spiced tea with some honey in it has been my favorites and while its warm and the popsicles. My mough still gets dry but I am following my fluid intake guidelines so hopefully that too shall pass.. The beginning of this process sucks but getting over this bump in the road will all be worth it.

Protein shake was a little sweeter than normal today but I think I just need to change a few things up and it will be perfect for me again.

I am 4 days out from surgery which was June 28th. I had Dairy Queen double cheese burger and onion rings with a strawberry cheesequake blizzard for my last meal before surgery. That was 5 pm on the 26th and then I had to take milk of magnesia (mint) which was disgusting on Tuesday night at like 8 pm. Nothing to eat all day Weds and surgery Thursday morning which meant nothing to eat or drink after midnight.. so I have not had any food for 5 days now. I didn't even believe I could make it this far but I did. It is mind over matter. I have heard this so many times in my life and I know its true: Nothing ever tastes as good as being thin feels. I don't know because I have never been thin but I sure would like to find out.

Sorry for rambling..
Amber
