We got this girl - no problems!
Tonight - you (and our other twins) will be in my prayers. But we have it easy, just lay there! Couple weeks from today we'll be telling everyone else how easy this was. Little sore for a few days, but no big deal!
I'll be looking for your posts!

Oh goodness! Have you ever been afraid of needles? Have you ever just waited and waited for them to put that needle in?
That is how I feel about tomorrow morning. I wi**** was just over with already.
I'm excited about the new life I'm about to embark on but the surgery and possible pain after makes me a bit edgy. I've been comforted by the other posts saying that it may hurt for a few days but then after people are really happy they made the right decision for themselves. I'm just ready to be on the other side of it.
Anyway, if you remember... will you say a little prayer for me?
All you June babies are in my prayers... best wishes everyone!!

I think every surgeon has their own fasting program. Mylyssa, I am sure yours is what is acceptable for him. My surgeons reasoning for my 2 week protein fast is it puts me in the mindset for whats to come after surgery as well as it shrinks my liver so that he is able to get to my tummy laproscopically. Its kinda funny I have absolutely no desire for anything sweet...no cookies, no cake, no chocolate. I want a salad! Maybe a bite of meat...but no sweets.
Topic: Day 8 pre-op liquid diet
HI, I should be blogging everyday ( and I will start in a formal space), however I feel comfortable on this board, and feel I blessed to be connecting with so many people having this life transforming surgery, the same time as me, in the month of June.
Today is day 7. I feel AMAZING. Headaches and fatigue is gone. I continue to walk three miles a day, drink my water, get all of my 60 to 70 grams of protein in per day, and stay connected to others who are walking this past with me.
I believe the walking and spacing my liquid intake out over 6 meals per day works for me. Once I have the surgery, my pouch will be the size of a walnut. It will be critical to make sure what I put in that little space continues the most amount of protein and nutrients for my body.
I went to Trader Joes today and purchased some of my pre-op vitamins. I also have purchased the low fat cream soups I am allowed, and the best I have found so far is the Latin Black Bean, Corn with sweet red pepper, and Carrot Ginger. SF jello is my new best friend ( laughing), and I never thought I'd say this, but I am over anything that tastes like Chocolate... I also have tried a few different whey protein powders, and have had to return two of them to Trader Joes. They do not agree with my system. The ones that work for me are World Wide protein ( 35G protein, 170 calories) and EAS Lite protein ( 25G Protein and 165 Caolories). This is my base. Everything else works around this, with consuming at least 64 oz of water.
Just wanted to say how grateful I am for my upcoming surgery. I take it a day at a time, and each day my head clears, and the fog lifts, I am reminded of what got me to this place in my life ( emotional eating ), and I am finding ways to meet my needs without using food.
Hoping you all had a great day!

Hi Lori, thank you for your response. Stay positive and focused. 9 days will come and go before you know it. Tomorrow is day 8 for me, and on days 1 through 3, I thought I would die from the headaches, and modd swings detoxing off the sugar and carbs. Guess what? I did it, and you will too! :) Yes, you will be fatigued ( I was), and as the days progress, it will get better, I promise you! Drink a lot of water, don't stress about the ealking right now. Concentrate on getting your head in the right place, and everything else will fal lin place. Always here. Looking forward to this journey! We're doing this!

Topic: RE: Here We Go! OR 6/6, liquid diet starts TOMORROW
I'm having RNY on 6/6, and I had to start mine last Monday. It hasn't been as hard as I thought. I've lost 10.2 pounds so far. You can do it.
Topic: RE: Weening off....
Ive started my diet a little earlier than the paperwork says but I am currently replacing one meal with a protein shake and cut down on carbs fat and calories. I am walking for exercise and tomorrow is my gall bladder ultra sound. 2 weeks out I go to 1 meal 2 shakes then liquids 24 hrs prior. Dropping sodas was not a problem for me I am a water drinker and have always drank about 3 gallons a day.

Everyone on here it seems is doing a liquid diet for several days before surgery. I am on a modified atkins now. I replace one meal with a protein shake and 2 weeks out I replace 2 meals with protein shakes and go on liquid only 1 day before surgery unless it changes at my preop apt on the 14th.That sound right to ya'll
