My dr had an ultrasound of my liver gall bladder and lung on the right side. Im following my diet go to preop at the dr and hospital on the 14th just 6 days out. I pray nothing like this happens I dont know that I could take that kind of blow. I am eating lots of broccoli, cauliflower, chicken and tuna grilled zucchini, asparagus and grilled green beans. lots of water and protein shakes. Mine are really thick like a milkshake. I use 4 oz water 2 scoops of protein. I hope thats right!

That sounds horrible!!!
The Bariatric Center Program Coordinator (that's a mouthful) from St. David's called me on Friday to make sure all my ducks were in a row. She also informed me that they had gotten me a special bed because of my severe RA. She made me feel very comfortable. The part of the hospital I will be in is only bariatric surgeries--the program and people who work in it are award winning and are specially trained to care for the bariatric patient. I won't just 'show up' for surgery. The day before I will visit the unit, meet the anethesiologist (which is extremely important given my medical history) and staff, extensive pre-op evaluations, etc. I will most likely be in ICU directly after surgery, at least 12 hours. I feel like I know what to expect. I also feel lucky that I am able to travel to such a good program. My local hospitals that do bariatrics---let's just say it is worth traveling and having to stay in a different city for 2 plus weeks.

I am scheduled for surgery the 20th also. I have been on a modified atkins diet for 2 weeks 2 meals one protein shake. tomorrow i start 2 shakes one meal and the day before surgery I go all clear liquids 24 hours before with nothing not even water 12 hrs before. I can not wait to get the worst part over with and move forward with a thinner healthier life. Good luck to you. and all of us!

You can do it! I am on day 6 of clear liquid preop diet. If I can do this anyone can.

I understand. I have not cooked any meals or cleaned up after them to avoid food. My husband and teenage daughters have been great. The first head hunger I have had was tonight when they were fixing dinner, the smell got to me. Garlic will do that. So I drank my drink, had a popsicle and watched Dr. Who. Then it passed. Only 8 more days.

Erica, I know what you mean----in one instance I think my date will never arrive and then in the next instant I'm thinking that everything is moving too fast!
If you need to talk, please don't hesitate to msg me. We are going to do this, lose this weight and be happy!

You can do it! What does your pre-op diet consist of? I'm in week 3 of 4 of mine, which is limited to 30 grams of carbs and at least 70 grams of protein daily. I am jealous of some of the pre-op weight dropped by those on liquid diets, but my nutritionist said NO when I asked him about it. He isn't really keen on the one protein shake I have daily. His motto is REAL food, GOOD food. I have to say I am eating healthier than I have ever eaten in my life!

I'm SO ready for my sleeve! This pre-op liquid diet is no fun. I'm having head hunger issues like CRAZY!! I have taken to just hiding in the bedroom with my laptop and liquids most days.
I did go for a walk today for a hour and that helped a lot.
There is still a bit to do before Friday, as far as house cleaning and organizing.
I have been watching old episodes of Scrubs on Netflix. I could tell you each and every piece of food I have seen while watching it.
I know Friday will be here before I know it. I just wanted to vent and keep myself busy for a few mins.
Any June surgeries want to friend me, please feel free.
