Just hang in there. I am on day 17 of my full liquid diet, and the last 3 days have been hard. My husband has been so nice to go out to eat (at one of our 5 daughters homes), then tonight, he goes in the kitchen and fries potatoes and eggs, with bacon.
I had to leave the house. Went for a walk around the block (which is a very big deal for me! I am generally anti-walking, but, to get ready for after surgery, have started walking short distances. The best part tonight was, I didn't even get short of breath. I haven't done that in over 5 years. Hang in there.

Seriously, after being on a full liquid diet for almost 3 weeks now,
if I weren't taking a chewable multivitamin, a calcium supplement and Vit. D, I would probably be in the hospital for malnutruition!
Good luck with your surgery.  I am scheduled June 15th for Lapro-RNY w/ Dr. Peter Lalor in Bowling Green, OH.  I will post as often as
I am able after surgery.

Topic: RE: Got "THE" call
I got "THE CALL" last Friday, postponing my surgery by 1 week.
Add that 3rd week of full liquids, and I am really stressing now!
All the soups are starting to taste the same.  I don't like fruit juices
so, tomato juice is also getting boring.  Thank God for sugar free
jello, and Jello temptations.  I just want a potato chip!  LOL!

Topic: RE: Finally Home after my June 1st Surgery - **ADVICE FOR PRE- OPS**
I am 5 days away from surgery myself and really appreciate the pointers. I already have a notebook packed, to journal in. I am a nurse on a Open Heart surgery unit, so, I am aware of the importance of Coughing/Deep Breathing exercises, along with the Incentive spirometer. Walking almost hourly while in the hospital isn't a bad thing either. 1. I breaks up the monotony of lying in a hospital bed, 2. I uses many muscle groups, and keeps the lungs clear. 3. Keeps the gas moving to prevent pain.
Again thanks, and keep up the good work.

I'm scared of complications, "the worst" and sticking to the life change. I'm also excited and very hopeful. I'm just trying to get myself as ready as possible. Peace and health all.
Trying to build a better life, one good choice at a time.

You just got an early start. That is the only way we will ever get and keep this weight off if we are honest with ourselves. Some people think this is a quick fix and I beg the differ. This is hard work the tool just enable us to get a serious jump start on making some better decisions.

Stay encouraged you are doing FANTASTIC.

I think that is just part of the process - getting scared and nervous. You will likely question your decision everyday until your surgery! Let yourself get scared, because that allows your to work through those feelings and address them and allows you to get the answers to your questions. Because what is fear if not for the element of the unknown?
I am only a week out, and I cannot say that I would do this over again. I had a difficult time with the pre-op liquid diet, problems with my hospital stay, I havent lost alot of weight like the others have and I am miserable BUT the surgery did what I wanted... I am not hungry at all. So for that I am grateful.
Embrace the fear, and conquer it. You will likely be fine. :)
