Hi everyone! I'm having surgery on the 29th and I'm hating my liquid diet. I've been on it since the 14th and I don't think I've lost squat. I haven't really cheated, but I notice that when I'm fixing my husband and kids dinner I "taste test" their food and when I "come to" I spit it in the dogs bowl LOL It has been VERY difficult to follow this liquid diet and today I finally broke down. I cried because I wanted some REAL FOOD. Even scrambled eggs would be wonderful right now!! I'm definitely looking for surgery buddies to keep in touch with. I'm a bundle of nerves; mostly dreading the anesthesia because every time I've had surgery before I wake up in a panic, bawling my eyes out, confused... BLAH! Looking forward to making some new friends!!

 I've had worse pre-menstrual pain.  Just make sure you and your doctor are on the same page with pain management.  Never let it get over a 5 on the pain scale.  In the hospital I did morphine every 2 hours--now I am doing liquid Lortab about every 6 hours, even though I can have it every 4 hours.  I do have rheumatoid arthritis, tho.  I figure if I didn't have arthritis I wouldn't even need the pain meds right now.

Hope you get over the dizzy feelings. 

I didn't have any bad gas.  Thank Goodness.  

I am eating my protein frozen, like I did pre-op.  Everything is better cold to me.

My taste hasn't changed.

I haven't had any trouble with liquids.  Oh, except for coffee.  I couldn't tolerate it yet.  Maybe in a few days.

I can start cream soups today, but I haven't yet.  

My surgery is tomorrow as well.  I have to be at the hospital at 8 in the morning.  I had to do clear liquids all weekend.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I will be glad to finally make it to the losers bench.  I know that we will be ok.  I cant wait to hear about your hospital experience.

Best wishes to all you guys. In the morning at 9am I also will be at the hospital. I am so emotional. I guess its a little fear, excitement and wonder all wrapped into one. But probably mostly hunger. LOL liquid dieting sucks. No gross stuff to drink to poop tho thank goodness. But then that probably means I'll have an enema which sucks. Anyway Ill remember ya'll all in my prayers. See ya'll on the way to a new skinnier, healthier life!
