Surgery in a week....and I am scared. I don't know if I am making the right decision. I don't want to die on the table. I don't want to give up all the good food....but I am too big not to have it. What should I do???

PS.. i have lost 8 pounds and I am trying to get this stupid ticker to show it. I have it changed in my settings but it will not transfer to the one that is attached to everything. Help please?

Robotic is only done by a handful of surgeons in the united states. My surgeon is world renowned and has surgeons from all over the country and world observe her surgeries. Robotic is a system that allows surgeons to perform laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery from a remote console, controlling up to three robotic arms and a binocular camera. It gives them more visibility. I am definitely in good hands :)

Hey,
What do you mean by robotic? I have my surgery on Thursday, so I can answer the other question. I have the same issues about being scared about leaving my son motherless, but if I don't do this then it will not be good either. Good Luck.

Hi Everyone! I just discovered this board but have been on the main board for quite some time! My Robotic Laparoscopic RNY is scheduled for Monday! I am trying to keep busy and get through my 2 week preop pure liquid diet! I am a bit nervous only about the possibility of leaving my two young sons motherless but other than that I am soooo ready for this! I realize since its late in the month most of you have had your surgeries already and I would love to hear any advice or suggestions or anything you wish you had known or something you should have done or brought to the hospital or anything you feel would be helpful! Hope you are all doing well!

I had my pre-op yesterday also... rules, papers, hints, papers... she****hink I have the equivelant of a small forest in my house now! I have similar concerns about the anesthesia making me nauseous and discussed that at the pre-op yesterday. have been doing pretty well on liquids these past 3 days, and am excited/scared sh*tless at the same time.
I am sure we will (all us June 'babies') will be fine embarking upon our new lives.. just feels soo nice to have someone to share these feelings with and to hear I am not alone!!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! Yep, I hope it gets there fast, Im very anxious! How much have you lost so far? I noticed that you will be one month post the end of this month.
Also, do you live in tennessee?
