Well, I finished the 1st of the 4 weeks yesterday.  My trackers says I averaged 891 calories a day.  I lost 3 pounds and I have absolutely NO energy whatsoever.

When do you usually start a diet? My physician said they will send my instructions in the mail. I am 25 days out and have not receive it yet. I have started on protien shakes tho because my best friend went through it. but some people have diffent diets. She had 2 weeks of all liquid. they told me 2 replacement shakes and one small meal. Gl Everyone on your surgery. I am super excited and know you all are too.

It varies widely.  Some docs only due the day before, I think a lot do a week or 2 weeks.  My surgeon usually does 2 or 4 weeks.  But I know some in the program that are doing up to 8 weeks.  So wait to see what your doctor requires.

Started my 2 week liquid fast today.  Got in 980 calories and 50.5 gms of protein.  Supposed to be 60 gms but I think that will come with time.  I have been extremely nauseas all day.  Had to take my prescribed Phenergan ( I have a symptamatic incisional hernia).  I hope after a couple of days my body will become more tolerant of the diet change.  I guess the alternative to nauseas would be hungry all day but I just couldnt stand smells or textures very well.  Anyone else having this issue?

I would love some recipe ideas from anyone who has them.  I am on a liquid fast till day before surgery then its clears and miralax ****tail.

Have you tried the shakes frozen/slushy?

Add sugar free syrups to you protein drink.  Use 1/2 ice and 1/2 liquid and put in the blender or magic bullet and make a shake.  I know there is some chicken soup flavored protein powder.
GNC sells Muscle Milk protein water.  There are 2 flavors.  I tried the grapefruit.  It is a 16 oz bottle and has 10 grams of protein.  It has a very light taste and does not have that normal protein taste of the powders.  There are also protein powders by Syntrax called Nectar.  Lots of people like them.
