Folks on the RNY board just praised Unjury Unflavored (meaning not vanilla, etc. - it still has a taste, they say) protien powder. Something called Nectur (sp?) is more like a juice drink, I've heard, too.

My biggest thing right now is trying to research protein supplementation.  I'm not really big on shakes, so I'm looking for probably some unflavored protein powder that I can add to juice and soup and not really taste it.  I'm also looking for fruity type protein drinks that are not thick like a shake because I think I could tolerate those just fine.

I am also hoping to start doing some light toning exercises and start using a good firming lotion now to hopefully minimize the loose skin issue.  I really don't want to have to have another surgery after this.

Other than that I've got to hurry up and get my passport application sent off!  I know time will fly by!

(my reply showed up in the wrong spot, I think)

And, I work at a school! No wonder so many education-types wind up in June. :) It's really soon, isn't it? Spring break's around the corner. I have to try to use a day or two then to set up my kitchen and house to prep for my RNY. I don't have a date yet, but I've just wrapped up the psych eval, have one nut class left before the main pre-op class, and can now get an appt with the surgeon. If I don't get a date in June, I guess it'll be August, because I have to work lots over the summer. There's only a two-week lull in August, though, while I have all of June if needed.

So, what are you guys doing to get the house/closet/pantry/etc. ready???

--- Very exciting to be so close!

I also teach, and so my hopefull date is June 14th.  Waiting for my insurance to approve. Should find out this week.  Not sure what I'll do if I'm denied..I still have to do some of the tests once my insurance says its a go.

Hello!
I am new on here, but I just got my VSG scheduled for June 4th, 2010.  I am doing self pay in Mexico, so they probably could have scheduled me much sooner, but I teach and wanted to wait until summer to have it done.  This site looks like such a great resource, I will probably be asking lots of questions as I prepare!

Hi - I'm the first one to post here. I don't have an exact date for my inteneded June 2010 RNY yet, but May 2010 would be the end of my 6-month insurance-required pre-op program, so I'm staking a claim here. Hope you can join me. :)
