I am 100% getting surgery (VSG) in June.  I have time booked off, I'm using half of my sick days and some personal days.  Two weeks worth.

The one thing I haven't decide on is the surgeon I'm going to use.

As for pre-op I am doing so much prep work that I should be healthy for surgery.  I will come back tomorrow and post my regime.

Hi all!~
I am scheduled to have surgery sometime in June too.
This is a fast process for me.  I inquired about it last week.  I have had all my dr appts taken care of.  I go to a 2 hr meeting on april 14th.  Then meet with the surgeon and do the physc test the same day and boom get a date.  I am having it done in NC.
I cant wait till it is over!!!

I had a major diet Pepsi addiction (3-4 a day) I gave up my beloved diet soda on the 10th of Feb. it was a very sad day, but surprisingly easier then I thought. Good Luck. Also, I felt like I was eating a lot more since I gave up soda but my husband says he has noticed that I am eating a lot less.

I think my pre-op goal would be to start walking. I live in Oregon (very rainy right now) and have 3 kids (6,2, and 8 months) so it is a challenge. But I feel like I am always using this as an excuse, so I am going to stop and get off my booty and start walking :).

I have been instructed to change a few things now 3mos out rather than procrastinate and lets say drink diet coke all the way until surgery :0 So I am starting ....uh tomorrow. No diet coke. Also I'm going to go on a walk. I guess I should start out small then work my way up. Tell me your pre-op goals.

I do not have an exact date yet either. Dr. says we are aiming for the first part of June. It seems so far away I'm trying to kick some bad habits now so things don't seem quite as drastic How about you guys ? I think I will post a separate thread for pre- op goals

 Hi,
My sister and I are scheduled for surgery on June 28th in Mexico with Dr. Alveraz. I am so excited but it seems way to far away. My sister is a school teacher so we are waiting for summer so we can do it together. Anyways just thought I would say "Hi".

Hello everyone,  I work in a school as well, so I am scheduled for June 8 of this year.  I am very excited and just getting on this site for the first time today.  I know this will be an important source of support, and I was happy to find a group with similar timing.
I had to do the 6 month insurance thing, and them my company changed insurance, so it was totally unnecessary. Frustrating...Good luck to all!

I am having my surgery on June 14....two days before my 70th birthday. My birthday gift to me. I have just started the 12 week pre surgery education classes.

What a way to Celebrate my 70th Birthday!
A gift to myself that I should have done years ago

Hi, I just changed my surgery to June 4. I work for a college campus and had to change my date for work purposes. I am so excited and trying to figure out what I will eat after surgery. My husband had gastric bypass a few years ago and he used the Sugar free Carnation Breakfast drink, it is really good. I know I will be drinking the strawberry and vanilla flavor the most, but right now, I am trying to get used to plain yogurt. Yuck, I added the powder crystal light(Walmart brand) into it for some flavor,  so far so good. I also tried it with honey, not so good.
