Mine is scheduled for June 7 at 8:30 AM CDT
I have a past history of Aortic Valve Replacement and Aortic Graft plus colonectomy 16 years ago and lots of scar tissue. Considered "high risk", but Dr. still willing to do it.

Topic: RE: Yoooohoooo! Any June 2010 surgery dates?
Hi June Friends-
I excited and terrified to be taking this journey. I planned to do the lap band, but did a little more research and will be moving forward with bypass. I have fought my weight my entire life, and have been losing the battle for the last 10 years. Now my health is suffering and I have 2 sweet little girls that need me. I am also an educator and have put myself last for years. It is time to really stop messing around with this issue and do something about it. I am glad to find some new friends to talk to, because from what I have read, friends that can relate is what I will need! Good luck to you all. I'm looking forward to hearing about your challenges and successes.

Topic: RE: Just got my date June 1st!!
Well, I have a pretty strict regimen which = a total of 800 calories.
Breakfast:
8oz Soy Milk mixed w/ a Bariatric Protein which has no carbs or sugar (ie. Matrix or Nectar by Syntrax). The are actually REALLY good and pretty filling w/ the soy milk. (I like the Silk Soy Milk)
10oz. of a V8 for some carbs (I like the V8 vusions)- u can change this up w/ the new Diet Blue Berry/Pomegrante Ocean Spray and water it down.
1/2 cup sugar free jello ( you know the kind they sell pre made at the store).
Lunch:
Same protein shake
1 cup of (beef, chicken or vegetable broth)
another thing of jello
Dinner:
Same protein shake
1 cup of broth again
1 sugar free popsicle
Drink LOTS OF WATER!!!!! You should literally be sucking something down all day.
Make sure you take multivitamins and calcium prior to surgery and B12 (for energy). I get the shots biweekly from my doctor.
Then,I am told to walk an hour a day. I'm dropping weight fast. Luckily I have a free dietician for life w/ the program I am on. I thought I was going to die at first, but it's really not that bad now and I'm on my 4th day. They also recommend going to Costco in the liquid vitamin section they have these things called Body Choice Protein Weight Loss Shots that look like they are in large viles and are about 25g. of protein. There are about 16-20 in a pack and cost about $20 bucks for the a pack of those. I got 2 for after surgery. My biggest fear is losing my beautiful hair :) They have different flavors w/ all the protein powders (I like the Cappiccino, Strawberry Cream and Fuzzy Navel). Also, get some flavored water w/ carbs and minerals. I have also been told to stock up on crystal light. That is my new soda, since I cannot have carbonation anymore. Just stock up on broth too and sugar free popsicles, jello for after surgery. I also heard that when you have this operation your monthly comes more often and usually right away and is different than ever before, so be sure to have plenty of feminine supplies (just in case, I am bringing them to the hospital). I hope this helps a bit. Keep me posted. I'm driven like a mad woman ;)

I am having mine done at Scripps hospital in San Diego Ca. I really like my doctor and have a lot of confidence in him. Right now I am struggling to get my house and business in order so the transitions and healing can move forward. I am also gathering supplies, lol I told people I was nesting. I just want everything to go smooth.
Topic: June 23rd his-and-her RNYs
The hubby and I will have RNYs on the same day on June 23rd in Ypsilanti, MI. We are sooo excited but we are having trouble getting organized to do the things we need to do to get ready. Our surgeon did not give us any firm instructions on a specific diet to follow to prepare but he just said "lose some weight" before surgery. We will begin protein shakes and a low cal/hi protein regimen this week.
THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!!

June 23rd is my date and my hubby's too! I know what you mean about the big mix of emotions. I'm not feeling scared at all yet but hubby is another story. Where will you have your sleeve done? We're both having the RNY.
Bring it on!!!
Bring it on!!!
