After years of insurance issues and one denial on a previous provider my approval came through and I recieved May 27th and they set my surgery date for the 10th of June....wooohoooo I am so excited and happy as well.

My surgery is scheduled for June 22nd. I am on shakes for bf and lunch with a low carb supper. I lost 9 lbs the first week. It is exciting!!!!! I would love to be friends and see how things go for both of you.

My surgery date is confirmed. I completed my lab work just pending my chest x-ray which is scheduled 5-28-10. My blood pressure is slightly elevated and the MD have me taking medication to stablize my blood pressure before the surgery date. I pray all will be well before 6-6-10. Overall, I'm really excited about begining my weight lost journey.

Jen,
My doc is not having me on any specific diet before surgery. He just recommends lighter eating and being careful not to get to much "fat" intake as it can make things worse.
He wants us to be who we are, but your doc will have his own specific regiment for you.
Welcome to the group. I am so excited with only 12days left it seems I do not have a lot of time now to do some of the things I need to get done before the surgery. I have been helping my son move this week so this has taken some time too.

Hi Cristal,

I'm having an Open RNY on June 8th, too. Getting excited and nervous. I noticed some people were put on an all liquid diet 2 weeks before surgery - did you hear anything about that? I haven't been given any directions other than to start fasting 24 hours before surgery.

I'm in MN and am having surgery at United Hospital. I wish you well and hope we both have speedy recoveries!
