I have been instructed to change a few things now 3mos out rather than procrastinate and lets say drink diet coke all the way until surgery :0 So I am starting ....uh tomorrow. No diet coke. Also I'm going to go on a walk. I guess I should start out small then work my way up. Tell me your pre-op goals.

I had a major diet Pepsi addiction (3-4 a day) I gave up my beloved diet soda on the 10th of Feb. it was a very sad day, but surprisingly easier then I thought. Good Luck. Also, I felt like I was eating a lot more since I gave up soda but my husband says he has noticed that I am eating a lot less.

I think my pre-op goal would be to start walking. I live in Oregon (very rainy right now) and have 3 kids (6,2, and 8 months) so it is a challenge. But I feel like I am always using this as an excuse, so I am going to stop and get off my booty and start walking :).

RNY on 09/27/10 with
Oh, brother. I feel "very close" to surgery --- although I don't even have a date yet. I bet I'll have a date in hand by the end of the week. But, my MAIN GOAL now is to eat fewer calories each day. Goal: Keep it at 1,500. I'm taking in more like 2,000-3,000 at this point, because I keep messing up at dinnertime and eating my husband's and child's fast-food instead of my own planned meals then. If I can't get a grip on this --- and SOON --- I'm going to seriously wonder if I should even move forward to surgery (RNY). Or, maybe it's going to be the RNY surgery itself that finally breaks me from partaking in bad eating habits & keeps me "clean" long enough to build up my own resistance to my family's bad eating choices. Sigh. Well, tomorrow is another day.

My goal is to lose as much weight on my own before my surgery, June 7th! I have to start my liquid diet on the 13th, but, I figured that I would just try to gradually do it now. From what I understand, if you can lose 10 to 20% before surgery, you have a faster recovery time!

That is my goal tooo!  I am hoping to having surgery, relize band, done on June 1.  I meet with the Dr. and the nutrionist this week and do my sleep study.  The last of my required tests.  My insurance is pretty easy going so I hope it doesn't take too long.  I really need the June 1 date.  wow , you have a really long pre-op diet.  What is it?  Three weeks.  Ours is only 10 days.

I may not be in controll but God is!!!  I am loosing my way to Scotland!!
