I had my surgery on Monday also, I think most people feel this way right after surgery. The pain is intense and makes us rethink why we would do such a thing to ourselves. That's another reason this site is so good for us....becuase we can see the other side- we will have many days we think twice about what we did but thats okay! We will make it through...you are not alone!

Topic: 3 days out
Well, had RYN on Monday. I'm still feeling really sore (like i've done a million sit-ups) The percoset is doing an OK job on the pain. Still have 2 drains in. Will have them in until i go for my one week post op appt. I certainly hope this is all worth it because right now, i'm feeling very unsure of my decision. I'm sure when my cloths start falling off, i'll change my tune. Well, going to rest a little. Take it easy.
Topic: I am home
Surgery was Monday...everything went well- I slept through the whole day.
Yesterday was a good day, did lots of walking so I could get home today.
Drains came out today at 1pm and I took a shower and went home.
I was in a lot of pain prior to the drains coming out and the drains felt like hell coming out.
I had 2oz milk for dinner...will start back to shakes tomorrow...can't wait for two weeks to go by so I can switch to something to chew on, the broth and jello didn't cut it- could barely get even a few bites/sips down...
thanks for all the support

Topic: Surgery June 15th and having an emotional meltdown. HELP!
Hi group. I had my lap RNY on the 15th and was released home today. I have only been home for 7 hours and have been tearful all day. I didn't expect to have this much pain from my surgery and it seems like I have forgotten everything that I knew before going in. I am not sure if my stomach is grumbling because I am hungry or because it hurts. And what about sipping water all day long? How much is a sip? HOw much fluids should I be consuming in an hour. And why did I forget all of this stuff that I previousely researched and knew. Anybody else out there feeling these things or am I just way over the top?
Thanks for any and all words of encouragement.
Mandy
