I can't believe I missed this post!  I was looking for me people who shared my surgery date!  HOW IS EVERYBODY DOING?????   Good, I hope!  I didn't have the pre-op thing either...  just clear liquids the day before.  I had to be there at 5:30am for a 7:30am surgery.  Everything went very well for me, and my nurses were so wonderful!  Now I am here at home, having less pain each day that goes by.  Incisions look better, and I am on liquids for 2 weeks.  It's going okay, though I really would love a salad or something!  haha.....

CHeck in everyone!!!

I was going to ask the same thing.  Are you in pain and bloated and having hard poops?  If you're just not going, I think it's okay.  I haven't gone at all since the day before my surgery (one week ago tomorrow)  I was actually wondering if that was okay myself.  I think it's normal if we don't have so much "junk," as you called it, which is a great word, in our bodies, we probably will have more normal bodily functions.  Good luck getting things moving!  Are you getting enough water?

I'm still on liquids too, so my choices are limited...  lol...

I'm fascinated about you liking cottage cheese.  Did you HATE it before?  I absolutely hate it, but I always wished I liked it.  Does that make sense?  Maybe when I can start eating, I'll give it a try!

That sounds absolutely terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!   GOOD LORD!  They would have needed to fill me up with dilaudid for that experience.  (they DID shoot some in the IV to straight cath me.... my nurse was amazing!)  lol...

I'm glad that's OVER for you!  Welcome home!  How are you feeling now?

I know I am not getting enough water.  I am trying hard!  You sound like you are doing things right.  I often wonder myself... is this right??  For me, I do not have to sip in 1oz. portions.  I generally just fill a glass with water and sip throughout the day.  I pretty much sip the way I've always sipped.  Sometimes I drink a little more, sometimes less.  I can have about 4oz. of a protein shake at one time.  I drink carefully.  When I get halfway done (about 3-4oz) I def. feel full and need to stop.  Maybe I should be sipping more slowly?  I'm not nauseous or vomitting, so I figured I was okay.

I say keep up what you're doing if you feel good!

See now with me I cannot have protein, strictly clear liquids until the first week out.   Do you like the whey protein shakes?  I started drinkin those before surgery and they are num num.  $15 for a big thing of it at wal-mart.

I had the RNY.  Still feeling great other than being full of gas bubbles.  I can't wait til next week i go for my 1 month and I want to see what my weight is.  I can't use the scale at home until i'm under 320.  Hopefully soon though.
