I was extremely nervous about the procedure, but it was over in a flash once I drank the barium. The Dr. will have to push quite a bit on your stomach which will be the worst of it. I'm still frightened if anything touches that area. HA! You'll be fine and no xanax will be needed. LOL You'll leave with a band-aid and a smile on your face!

Hope everyone is doing well! We are almost at our 2-week post-op point!
Topic: RE: NG tube anybody?
I'm glad you're starting to feel better! I'm good! I am excited to be hitting the 2 week post-op point and starting to try some new foods. Sheesh! There are only so many protein shakes and cups of broth I can take!
Topic: RE: anyone else on liquids only for two weeks post op?
I had my lapband surgery on 6/29, and I also am on liquids for 2 weeks. I have been doing protein shakes, carnation instant breakfast (sugar free,) the popsicles and jello, of course. During my 2nd week, I made a cream of broccoli soup, which was totally pureed at the end, and I was eating that. Yeah, variety's really lacking. I am definitely starting different soups now, and next week I plan on starting oatmeal and mashed potatoes and other things like that.

I've heard the same thing. I'm 2 weeks post op almost and also feel better and like I could eat something regular. I'm very afraid though! My doc. put me on 2 weeks of liquids and 2 weeks of pureed, so I'm totally following the rules, just for fear of messing up the healing of the band. I DID put some hard boiled egg and mayo in the magic bullet today and made a sort of mushy egg salad. I was dying for something different. Good luck... I've read a lot that this is the time period where it's hard to have the will power and perserverance!

What was it like? Did the needle hurt? Was it over quickly? I'm pretty nervous about that whole thing myself and have my xanax ready! lol...

I went for my 1st fill yesterday and was pretty freaked out by it all, but I'm feeling great today! I hopefully will be back on my regular diet by Sunday. Anyone have any stories for me about your first lap band fill?

Topic: RE: How are you June 11th people doing?
I have lost 30 lbs. since surgery on June 11. I am doing very well. I wish I had more energy though. I have started eating too and measuring is extremely important for me. I have definitely had episodes where I have eaten too much and have to wait for that uncomfortable feeling to pass. No dumping though. My only real problem has been constipation but I'm relearning my body and I think I have that under control now. I too need to get more fluids but I am meeting my vitamin and protein goals 90% of the time. My next hurdle is exercise. I'm ready to get started but I just don't have the energy on most days. I need some motivation in this area.

Hiya, i had my op on the 12th, todate i've lost 28 lbs so far, so i'm feeling really good. I stalled for 11 days then the scale started to move again. I'm eating very similar food to you and will this week introduce other foods as today is my 4th week post op. I dont finish all of the 64 oz liquid and i have about 3 meals a day if i'm lucky. I'm going to try to increase to 6 small meals a day. I eat about 4-5 tablespoons of food at a time. Keep up the good work, you are doing absolutely great!

From what I have been told is that you won't feel any restrictions until you have had your first fill, that is why you are able to eat a larger amount, wait until you get your fills, you will not be able to eat that much.
