Topic: Lap Band Surgery June 19th

Hi I just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Breanne and I had the Lap Band surgery on June 19th, 4 weeks ago tomorrow! I am down 14lbs since surgery and I have my first fill on Tuesday. I am very interested in chatting with some people who have also had the surgery!

I am six weeks out and perhaps I am going to go to hell for it...but I had a glass of wine last sat. Granted I watered it down and drank it over 3 hours. But honestly no harm done.  I didn't get drunk and I felt fine.

It will not kill you.:) I am going to avoid all carbonated drinks and sugary juices- so most ****tails are out...sadly enough.  But my dr. said wine was safe.

I had the band on 6/16 and feel great!  I am slowly introducing food into my diet and have not had any problems.  So far so good...good luck to all!

I have been so afraid to eat.  It seems as if my stomach isn't ready.  It hurts sometimes for what seems no reason.

I also had surgery on the 30th. Today I graduated to soft foods, so I had egg salad. Yum.  Also some Vienna sausages (you can sift them thru your teeth, they're so soft).  Canned chicken is really soft, too.  I had some finely mashed cooked cauliflower with some of the chicken and a little cheese all melted together. Really good after 5 weeks of liquids!  But last week I had a lot of potato-y soups pureed and thinned with milk, sometimes with protein powder.  My favorite thing was refried beans with salsa and a little water, liquified in the blender.  Delicious.

Like you guys, I was a little teary that first week after surgery, but this 2nd week I feel like myself again.  This week I'm starting back at the gym, treadmill only for the next two weeks.  Every day I'm feeling so much better than I did just before surgery.  Yay for us!

Ka****ruly Vanilla Oatmeal.. One packet is 8 grams of protein AND has 9 grams of fiber in it!  I add a few small slices of bananna to it and make it with milk.

It tastes great, sticks with you and gives me my protein for the morning!

Dr. Benn gave me an incredible tool.. and I intend to make the most out of it!!

I agree, I'm sick and tired of eggs or cottage cheese for breakfast!

I have been having a protein shake, or I'll have a cup of decaf coffee and put some protein powder in it.  I am not real hungry in the morning.  I'm still supposed to be on purees/mushies, though I admit I'm moving on a little to softer foods.  I am going to try soft-boiled or scrambled eggs soon and also oatmeal with splenda, cinnamon and milk.
