Topic: June 18th date! (Pittsburgh PA)
Yeah! My new life will begin on 6/18/09! (gastric bypass)
I've been reading everyone's posts and thought I'd add my date to the pile-up!
Very exciting!
Now...so much to do!!!!!
(Get vitamins, protein powders, popsicles, etc. Not to mention Pre-Admission Testing!)
Funny! We wait 6 months then it all explodes at once!
It will be nice to keep up with everyone's stories as we go along!

Here's the protein shake I use (and LOVE):
http://labrada.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=labrada&Product_Code=PP-0209&Category_Code=mrp_shakes
It's a bit spendy, but it goes a LONG way. :)
And it mixes extremely well as a smoothie with ice & yogurt/pudding/fruit/whatever..... or just as a regular drink.
It's actually pretty filling, too. I'm actually to the point where my body CRAVES the protein shakes, lol.

Don't be nervous! I had my Pre-op appointment yesterday. I met with the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the dietician, and the nurse. It was a breeze!
I also found out that I've lost 6lbs.... which was a nice bonus!
They'll just ask you a bunch of random questions about your health history and talk to you about what to expect on surgery day.... and what to expect afterwards.
They'll also go over all the risks, etc.
You'll do great! :)

My boyfriend has me hooked on this stuff... I'll have to find out the name of it.... it's DELICIOUS and extremely filling. He used to use it for working out... but it's actually perfect for WLS. :)

You will do fine. Just hang in there. I started my process for this last July. So after finishing all the 'requirements' from the insurance company. I got approved in the last week in April. My date is 6/15 as well. I know how you feel about being nervous. I get very nausous from anethesia. So that part im NOT looking forward to. We will be rooting for you. Practice your water intake for sure. Just be prepared..

I'm also scheduled for Jun 1st. The insurance company has a 6 month waiting period, and I have been on Medifast for that time and have gone from 270 to 214. I'm so excited for the surgery. I hope all goes well for you and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Started my 4 weeks of Optifast yesterday. DH had surgery May 11 & had to do 6 weeks of Optifast. He did it without cheating - he's my inspiration!
