I have a feeling I need to tame the carb monster a bit... I really like to have one serving of some type of crunchy crackery type thing every day and I gotta stop that!
I really wish we could get a better support group going for those of us that had surgery in June of this year...
I'm still a very slow loser, but I'm losing steadily - so I just have to be patient. I've lost 56 pounds since surgery.. I sure wi**** was faster.. I'm doing everything they say to do, so I have to have faith in the surgery.
How are you all doing? My favorite food find has been Ostrim Jerkey sticks 14 grams of protein and only 70 calories.. and yummy! That and a piece of cheese and a few crackers is a super protein packed meal or snack.
Would love to hear from you - come out come out wherever you are!
I have lost almost 78 pounds. I find that I am losing about 2 pounds a week at this point. I had 1 stall or I would have been at 80pds now. So i had a loss of about 30pds in the first 8 weeks and then about 10pds each month after that. So 232 now and in a size 20.
Still losing hair, but my family is getting used to seeing little hair balls here and there. I am confident that t will grow back. I am finding that I can eat a lot though...so I am having to be very cautious about my choices and that makes me scared of regain.
What I am loving is the exercise. I am running about 2 miles every other day and this week I bought a bike and am going to add cycling on the off days. On Thanksgiving I ran a 4 mile Turkey Trot (which if you know me, is CRAZY) and I am signed up for a 10miles ride this weekend and a 5k next weekend. I am finding that having these "race" goals really help me stay focused and train for them. I guess I am pretty type A...
Ok, how about everyone else, I am excited to hear your 6 month stories!!
hugs,
Ana
I too am a June baby the 15th to be exact. It is great to be able to share information with people from the same time period.I have lost a total of 104 lbs since I stated the liquid diet six weeks before my surgery but I seem to have hit a stall - in the past four weeks I have only lost two pounds. I am hoping this is just temporary. I have had no problems with different foods or textures and only have experienced food getting stuck once or twice. I am able to eat just about anything but still in small portions. I do however almost every evening get a little quesy after eating for what ever reason it does not happen in the morning or afternoon. I am so happy with my decision to have this surgery that even if I never lost another pound I feel great! I have gone from a size 26 and 4xl to a 14 and xl shirts! Yeah me!!!!
While the weight loss is easier with surgery, the lifestyle is harder.
I have been stuck for 2 wks or more several times now. It's quite frustrating and exercise doesn't seem to help. Eating less is the only thing that works. I have started tracking everything that goes in my mouth and have discovered that keeping the carbs to under 60 a day is difficult.
I appreciate reading everyone's posts....
