I had gastric by-pass 30 June.
I have some tenderness still and I am up and down in energy levels.
Isopure is so vile and I am tired of broth.
Help with suggestions please.

Congrats on the surgery. I had mine the day before yours. I know what you mean about the Isopure. I wasn't able to keep it down after awhile, I found a gallon of chocolate fudge protein powder at Walmart. I don't remember the name but for a gallon it costs about 14$. My whole family likes it and to me its like drinking a chocolate milkshake once or twice a day. Yummo. Good luck!

WOW!  I'm so happy to hear this.  I had my surgery the same day as yours and just posted on another board that if I had to have another shake after one week, I was going to vomit.  So I switched to the next phase 1 week after surgery.  I feel okay, bt am still crossing my fingers that I did not mess up.

I thank all of you for replying. I will look for some better ideas. I am in South Korea so my options are limited.  Today, my mood has been foul and tearful. Does anyone know where this is coming from or what I can do. I think it is because I want to eat a hotdog and can't.

I had my surgery on July 7Th, 2009. I have been eating cottage cheese for breakfast, Smashed turkey breast from boars head with tbs of mayo for lunch and dinner. Jello and ice pops in between. Crystal lite with my liquid vitamins and walmart protein shakes throughout the day just sipping on a 24 ounce shake, I have been feeling great in my pouch and trying to not think about all the yummy foods my family is eating. honey buns and things like that. i have noticed emotions that I have been hiding with food are starting to surface now. i have feelings of pain from my old damaged relationship that I realize I had been hiding with food. today in church i just cried and didn't know why so i just thanked God for loving me through my tears. I know emotions will fly now because I no longer have my drug of sweets to numb my pain. I hope this helps someone.

Im having a tearful day too. UGH! Our hormones are stored in our fat so when we lose fat our hormones drop. Then come mood swings. I asked on another fourm what to do. Im assumeing its like pms without the cramps!  This is just what i have read about. Im no dr but this is my take on it.

WOW! s that what it is?  I've been so dog on emotional lately!  WOW! Thanks for the enlightenment.  My gosh, "FOOD", where did you go?  How will I cope now? I don't want to be emotional, especially around men.

I also had surgery on the 30th. Today I graduated to soft foods, so I had egg salad. Yum.  Also some Vienna sausages (you can sift them thru your teeth, they're so soft).  Canned chicken is really soft, too.  I had some finely mashed cooked cauliflower with some of the chicken and a little cheese all melted together. Really good after 5 weeks of liquids!  But last week I had a lot of potato-y soups pureed and thinned with milk, sometimes with protein powder.  My favorite thing was refried beans with salsa and a little water, liquified in the blender.  Delicious.

Like you guys, I was a little teary that first week after surgery, but this 2nd week I feel like myself again.  This week I'm starting back at the gym, treadmill only for the next two weeks.  Every day I'm feeling so much better than I did just before surgery.  Yay for us!
